Bio
Jana Linhares is part of the new music scene from Rio de Janeiro. Born into a musical family, she grew up surrounded by the MPB musical scene. Influenced by artists like Bjork, Portishead, Goldfrapp, among others, Jana maintains brazilian music and its diverse collection of sounds at the core of her musical narrative.
Her velvet vocal tone is an excellent counterpoint to the sonic environment that surrounds her. The first album "TecnologiAmor" released in 2014 indicated the path where tradition and modern meets, taking you trough a journey in sound textures and ambiences. For the live presentation, Jana Linhares found the artistic group " Connecta - Visual Music " to bring her technological love to life, where electronic music becomes organic, living, causing a range of experiences and impulses.
The second album "Perto da Lua" released on August 10th 2018. The album honors the great samba composer, Nelson Cavaquinho.
His dark and existential environment opens a great window of opportunities for sound connections. The musical ambience values the lyrics and melodies and brings us an atmosphere where the electronic sonority coexists with the acoustic processed sounds.
