Some Day

Written By: Jana West

Some Day

I remember the smile laced with tears
We held on to each other for dear life
Now you’ve changed your mind over the years
The distance between us feels like an ocean

Change has made me who I am today
In some ways I’m so thankful
I can hardly remember the pain
I’ve come full circle
And I’m finding I can say

Some day’s finally arrived
It time to embrace this life
No more fighting destiny
Always knew that I’d be free

Some day’s finally arrived
Things are gonna be alright
Its taken me some time to see
But I always knew that I’d be free some day

I have found that I can rest in this place
I’ve been telling myself its gonna be OK
Though many scars have lets their trace
Its not gonna keep me from living today

Change has made me who I am today
In some ways I’m so thankful
I can hardly remember the pain
I’ve come full circle
And I’m finding I can say

Some day’s finally arrived
It time to embrace this life
No more fighting destiny
Always knew that I’d be free

I remember the bottom looking down
Believing I was on my way out
Grace took my hand in my broken state
And placed me where I am today
And I’m finding I can say

Some day’s finally arrived
Things are gonna be alright
Its taken me some time to see
But I always knew that I’d be free some day

Some day’s finally arrived
Things are gonna be alright
Its taken me some time to see
But I always knew that I’d be free

some day

Shadow

Written By: Jana West

Shadow

You said seek and you will find
You said come and you will never be left behind
So I come I look to You
So I stand in Your presence again

I’m not afraid to give my life to You
Leave my dreams and memories aside
Your spirit in my life

In the shadow of Your wing
In Your presence I will sing
Flowing wings of grace blow gently on my face
Make Your promise known to me
Show me grace that I may see
Grant me just a glimpse of Your shadow

All I am I yield to You
I Lift my hands as an offering
I’m in need of mercy’s touch
Nothing satisfies me like Your love

I’m not afraid to give my life to You
Leave my dreams and memories aside
Your spirit in my life

In the shadow of Your wing
In Your presence I will sing
Flowing wings of grace blow gently on my face
Make Your promise known to me
Show me grace that I may see
Grant me just a glimpse of Your shadow

Oh God Your love is such a mystery
Though I tend to lose my way
Every time I’ve gone astray
You call my name
And draw me back to You
Call me back to You

In the shadow of Your wing
In Your presence I will sing
Flowing wings of grace blow gently on my face
Make Your promise know to me
Show me grace that I may see
Grant me just a glimpse of Your shadow

Lay It Down

Written By: Jana West

Lay It Down

Would you mind terribly if we went back to the beginning
Seems like somethings lost
Left behind in the wake of our misunderstanding
And I’m afraid of the cost

Waiting in the balance of this fragile embrace
Words that we can’t easily erase
Don’t know if I’m willing
To put offenses behind without a trace

Be careful of the sentence—judgements you make
All of these a portion you must take
You will be forgiven – in much the same way
On the day of days

So will you lay it down
Take a stand
Faced with all that love demands
Or will you throw it out and walk away
From the nail scarred hands
Lay it down

As time goes by -- day by day
Well you know the wound grows deeper
Will you hold your grudge
Well its time to decide will this scar be a keeper
Your stoney heart won’t budge

Be careful of the sentence—judgements you make
All of these a portion you must take
You will be forgiven – in much the same way
On the day of days

So will you lay it down
Take a stand
Faced with all that love demands
Or will you throw it out and walk away
From the nail scarred hands
Lay it down
