"Who's Making Noise: Jane Lane"

Have you ever been to a club where the band playing is so good that even the people that are there just to drink booze and eat pizza actually stop what they are doing and listen? Yeah me neither - until I ran into Jane Lane at The Falcon a couple of Fridays ago. There was a collective hush that left un-bitten pizza slices dangling out of open mouths that night while Jane Lane performed.

Made up of members of the now defunct Sudden Epidemic, Jane Lane who got their name from the devil-may-care character on Daria, is a four-piece indie rock powerhouse from Denver. Self described as "sporadic and dynamic chaos in a controlled sense," and with a sound that is a mix of Cursive, Amber, and Tokyo Police Club.

"We'd really love to get across to people how we want nothing more than for them to listen - to truly listen," declares vocalist Jordan Daniel. "We want our music to change them. We really pour everything we are as individuals into the music to create an unstoppable, driving force - we outlet our emotions and experiences and insights and predictions and ideas into every song. We believe our music touches anyone who listens on some level or another because of how we let ourselves go; how we give ourselves 100% to every note."

Jane Lane in its current state has only been together since May - with the addition of Elise Alde on violin, replacing one of the guitarists, and creating a whole new and stunning sound for the band. This new direction has been captured on their first CD Stories, which will be released in September. Jane Lane has so much material written, already they are planning to release another CD immediately after their national support tour for Stories.

"We will continue playing music until there are no more songs to be played."

Bio

Taking a page from bands like Cursive, Tokyo Police Club, Rilo Kiley, and Manchester Orchestra, Jane Lane serves up an eclectic mix of violin, high voltage guitar, keyboards, electronics, and percussion in its own unique brand of kick ass. Both in the recording studio and in live performance, with Jane Lane, art is happening. NOW. Playful, dangerous, and engaging. And everyone is invited to the party!

Formerly hailing from New Mexico as Sudden Epidemic, and sharing the stage with bands including Vampire Weekend, Finest Hour, and the Capricorns, Jane Lane cites musical influences across a broad spectrum including Death Cab for Cutie, Blink 182, Fugazi, and the Rolling Stones. The band’s debut EP, "Stories", is out now.
