Janet discovered the hang at a music improvisation workshop and fell in love with it immediately. The tones of the hang are somewhat magical ~ you really must experience this music for yourself to appreciate the beauty of the natural resonance and harmonic overtones created by this unique instrument.
Janet's gentle, contemplative music is perfect for setting a relaxed, calm atmosphere.
Audiences are delighted to discover a new, intriguing instrument, and she is just as happy to introduce them to this wonderful sound sculpture.
As a child, Janet experienced traditional music education via piano lessons. Progressing to flute, then piccolo, guitar and percussion came very naturally. Music improvisation was the key to exposing her own composing talents, however, and that is where the most joy is found in her personal music making.
