"4/5 Now Toronto"

"A sense of melancholy and dark intensity pervades the bulk of this Calgary-based quartets debut album. Chiefly carried by the rich, weighty vocals of singer Jamie Fooks, doing her best homage to Cat Power, Love thoughtfully combines folky pop-noir with glitchy, programmed beats and brooding dramatic intensity.

The songs are often gorgeous and plaintive, like the plucky waltz Oh Captain, and have rich violin, accordion and piano arrangements. At 10 songs, Love isnt tediously over-thought or drawn out. Instead, its an excellent debut that signals the arrival of a talented group."

- Now Magazine

This Calgary-based band’s delicious pop-noir debut album is my best new find of the year and I just can’t stop listening to it. Brooding, folky beats with rich instrumentals of violins, ukuleles and banjos matched with Jamie Fooks’ delicate but sultry, velvety vocals that remind me of Emily Haines or Fiona Apple with a bit of a femme fatale thrown in for mystery... amazing! - TV GUIDE

"Indie Darling"

Move over Emily Haines, you're going to have to share the spotlight with someone who could very well be the next Canadian Indie darling.! - Exclaim!

"Montreal gazette"

It's a trick to make music that is at once poppy and eerie, polished yet indie. Calgary native Jamie Fooks is on her way. She's a cool soul siren with a heavy heart; her pop-noir compositions are brought to life with commendable efficiency by herself (on vocals, keyboards and beats) and her bandmates (on guitars, banjo, ukelele, strings, mandolin and accordion). If David Lynch needed a soundtrack for a north-of-the-border reverie, he might start his search here. - Montreal Gazette

"What Other!?Beat Route"

What other band barely a year old founded by a person with relatively little musical experience, no CD for sale, and only a handful of live performances could land a spot opening for uber-indie artist Cat Power. - beat Route

Nuanced arrangements of strings, synths, guitar, piano, percussion and electronic beats form an elegant but vibrant base for Fook's lovely vocals, and meloncholy, even macabre little narratives. Good one Calgary 8/10 - Montreal Mirror
