Bio

It all started at age ten in the small town of Brockville, close to where she lived, when Janey was encouraged to audition for a role in a community musical theatre production. She got the part and went strong each year for a total of eight more productions. Eventually, by age eighteen, she landed her first professional role in a touring show. Though being onstage so much connected Janey to her love for performing and gave her many great experiences, she knew her heart was in writing, singing and performing as a solo artist, not in musical theatre. After completing only one year of the Musical Theatre Performance program at St. Lawrence College, she dropped out. Eventually opportunities led her to leave the small town and move to Toronto to start fresh. There she briefly worked with MC/producer Saukrates, and is currently working with different producers around the city -open minded and always looking to collaborate. The road that Janey chose to take seems a bit unpromising and uneven to some, but out of passion she is more than willing to take that chance. "There comes a point in time where you’ve got to let go of the places where ‘you think you need to be’ and just BE in the moment. Things will happen as they’re meant to, so continue on your way without expectations and you won’t be disappointed."
