It’s Janita, Janita, Janita Applebaum and she’s about to put you on to the hottest hip-hop and R&B tracks known to man. Gracing her listeners throughout the world with pure fun and a ball of energy; Janita states, “I want to bring my listeners to life, by helping them see the positive and feel the fun.”
Known for her radiant smile and bubbly personality, Janita Applebaum formerly known as Janita Jones describes her childhood as a house full of smiles and lots of love. Basically, “I grew up in Disney World,” she replies. While rocking to the sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire as a baby Janita’s love for music evolved. This upbringing of pure entertainment jumpstarted her career as an intern at the early age of sixteen with KXJM JAMMIN 95.5 in Portland, Oregon. Soon after finishing high school Janita moved her love for fun and radio to Reno, Nevada where she worked the circuits of KWYL WILD 102.9 radio.
While attending the University of Nevada-Reno Janita got the offer of a lifetime with wired 96.5 FM in Philadelphia. “When I got offered the job in Philly I was 22 years old - I felt this is was a window of opportunity that may never open again. Music pulls out a world of memories for me and I want to pass that on to my listeners.” She was the number 2 rated midday show in Philadelphia on WRDW 96.5 FM radio from 10AM – 3PM in the sixth hottest market in the country. She believes everyone has a purpose in life. “I believe my purpose is to bring sunshine and happiness to everyone that I come into contact with.”
