Janna Marit's songs are eclectic contemporary cousins of German and French theatre music. Sweeter less derelict cousins of Tom Waits (less whiskey and smoke, more red wine), woven of threads dropped off a gypsy caravan, dyed with the love of old jazz and baroque. Whimsical without being frivolous.
