January Dawn

“January can take this as far as she wants,” insists celebrated singer/songwriter and producer J. Marc Bailey, “she’s an extremely talented girl.” For Country singer January Dawn the sky is the limit and she wants to take it to the top of the charts.
January is currently in the studio working on her debut album, Love and Loathing. The deeply human CD features songs written by January, a remarkably talented artist who has spent the last few years probing her life experiences and putting some of her most intimate moments to verse. “My lyrics are a sort of journal,” she explains, “the best way I’ve found to express myself.”
Collaborating with sisters June and May on the lyrics to “I Get What I Want,” no one has any doubt that this girl has a place in the sun waiting for her. From the heart-driven ballad, “Give It To Me Straight” to baring her own imperfections in “Work in Progress,” Love and Loathing is an unclad soul draped in music.
Raw talent runs in the family, “I grew up in musical family,” explains January, “my dad was a country singer with a chance to sign with Captitol Records but chose family over music.” Her older sisters were a duet for years as well, traveling across the country from fairs to casinos. January soon followed in their footsteps developing a taste for the entertainment industry. Bouncing back and forth from the theatrical stage to recording studios, she balanced her love for acting with music and performed at rodeos, parties, and Las Vegas Casinos as a solo artist. Additionally, she found herself writing numerous songs and recording at multiple studios.
At one point January joined forces with her sisters to create the country trio Jones’N but has now gone solo since her sisters decided to settle down and raise a family. Her new CD, expressing a passionate embrace of her love for music with her loathing for the mishaps that life has thrown her way, has been met with critical acclaim from some of the best in the biz. “I really enjoy working with January,” says Rod Riley, a professional musician, “what a fun and talented girl!”
January has a tour planned set to start March 2011. “This girl rocks,” says Elizabeth Maletta, Legacy Bound’s CEO. “She is extremely talented and committed to her artistry.” That’s a refrain a lot of people will soon be singing.
