Biography

Jape formed in 2003 when Eric Turkienicz, Adam McNamara, Aaron Hagey-MacKay and Simon Pond met as teenagers at The Second City training Centre in Toronto. They have been performing regularly since then as they have become one of Toronto’s best known sketch troupes. Highlights include opening for Kid’s in The Hall Bruce McCulloch, opening for Jake and Amir’s only Toronto show, and headlining numerous shows across Toronto.
They have been official selections of the Toronto, Montreal, and Chicago sketch festivals and in the 2012 they were nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Sketch Troupe. You can catch them almost every month at Comedy Bar where they show off their signature comedic style of “low brow/high reference" comedy.
