"Listener reviews"

As a result of some very enthusiastic reviews from GarageBand.com members, two songs from the CD Release Me became Track of the Day on GarageBand.com. Can't Catch Yesterday on January 7th and Love and Mercy on January 10th 2007 were featured on GarageBand.com's Modern
Rock front page. One of the reviews said "Festivals were made for this kinda music" and another "Those guys understand what their business is; Provide a wall of sound, get to the chorus in less than a minute…Sounds easy, but not many bands get it right - these guys do." - Garageband.com

"Soul in a Jar"

“Honesty is the best policy,”so
say the ambiguous rulers of the
cliché moral taglines and golden
rules. Apparently,Jardsoul have
taken this phrase to heart, making
music that combines straightahead,
soul jarring rock progressions with
heart on the sleeve lyrical honesty
courtesy of frontman Keoni Boyer.
The story of Jardsoul began in
2002 when guitarist James Gillespie
and bassist Rob Cornetto, formerly
of the Long Island based Couch,
met with vocalist Keoni Boyer trying
to form a group to perform “stripped
down rock and roll with a progressive
mindset.” Finding the voice of shared
disappointment with relationships
in Boyer, the band then brought in
drummer Spencer Peller in 2005.
After building a local fan base in the
NYC scene through intense live
spectacles at Don Hill’s and the now
defunct CBGB’s, the band released
their first full-length album, Release
Me, a confessional piece of hard
rock soul searching with motifs as
heavy as the earthquake-inspiring
roar of its instrumental firepower.
Release Me takes the listener on
a trip through a personal diary of
the band’s frustration with relationships and personal demons.
Revealing, inspiring, and at times,
foreboding, Boyer says, “We wish
we could better communicate with
others and the music we play allows
us to do that,”making Release Me
a message in a bottle full of unspoken regrets and apologies.
Jardsoul will be celebrating the
release their first full-length with a
CD Release party at the Crash
Mansion in NYC on Feb.20

Bio

Jardsoul got it's origins from guitarist James Gillespie and bassist Rob Cornetto who played together in the Long Island band Couch. Building on their love of music and the chemistry between them, they decided to branch off together and begin a new band. Wanting to play stripped down rock and roll with a progressive mindset, they set out finding a complimentary
drummer and singer. After finding a drummer and trying many different singers, they were introduced to Keoni through a mutual friend. A veteran
singer and guitarist of cover bands and various original bands James knew Keoni was the perfect fit right away. He came in and in a matter of weeks finished 4 songs that James and Rob had written which became the first songs for Jardsoul. From this they started playing out and recording, later adding Spencer Peller on drums. Jardsoul has played in various venues in Long
Island as well as CBGB's, Don Hill's, Arlene's Grocery, Snitch and The Acme Underground in New York City.
Their first full length album is currently available on iTunes titled "Release Me."
Currently, James has departed to work on his own projects while Keoni, Rob, and Spencer are continuing on as Jardsoul writing new material and soon to be gigging out again.
