Jared Jones

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

I've been developing my craft through countless hours of rehearsal and performance. My goal is simple: to make sense of the many emotions of life through my music.

Biography

I was born and raised in a small town in Virginia. I studied creative writing in college and quickly realized that if I wanted to make a living, I couldn't rely on my degree! To be fair, I've never truly looked beyond music for a career because I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost. Composition and performance began as early as high-school but I didn't start singing my own material until my sophomore year at Virginia Commonwealth University. Ever since that time, I've been developing my craft through countless hours of rehearsal and performance. My goal is simple: to make sense of the many emotions of life through my music.

Unfortunately, there is no formula. I tend to write my melodies first, then lyrics. As with any passion, there are your core influences and your current interests. This gives each song it's own flavor while still remaining unmistakably yours. Core influences?? People ask me this question everyday, and I never feel comfortable with it simply because I truly enjoy so many aspects of writing and performance. It would make for a long list, so I'll leave it up to your imagination…

Lyrics

Love Again

Written By: Jared Jones

It was getting cold outside, and you said 'take my hand,
And give me something more to believe in.'
Promises I stole them all, and you still let me in
You are worth much more than I'm giving.

Holding on to something,
I can't even tell you how I feel.

Show me how to love again please
Cause I don't want to miss another love again
I don't wanna be alone forever so
Show me how to love again please…

Many times my heart feels something that I can't comprehend,
So pardon me for not explaining.
I'm trying to move forward without kickin' up the past,
But It can be so overwhelming

Crawling out of spaces,
I know I've been hiding out too long.

(repeat chorus)
