Bio

When Jarrah Thompson began to play at ‘Point Nepean Music Experience 08’ in March, there were 20 people at his stage, by the end of the set more than 2000 people had come over to hear a flute vs. guitar battle with the intensity and musicality of a Mozart piece.

This band is the result of years of hard work from Jarrah.
For those who have followed Jarrah Thompson’s career, they have seen a prolific and versatile song-writer performing and creating since the age of 15.

Born in rural New South Wales Australia 1984, Jarrah picked up a guitar at age 6 and has rarely put it down.
When his family relocated to Melbourne, Jarrah started his first band that went on to play acoustic live sets on Melbourne Radio Station 3CR, but mostly had the neighbors banging on the garage door!

As a teenager Jarrah went to study Music Performance in the USA, and upon return to Melbourne joined the rock band 147K which was taken under the wing of Australian Guitar Legend and Hall Of Fame Inductee Lobby Loyde. After 3 years of constant live performing, recording and preparation, Jarrah’s own band was born.

Now in 2008 we see a monster of a Live Band. With Alejandro Vega on percussion, Dan Richardson on flute, Chris Cameron on Drums, a 3 piece brass section plus more.
The band fuses Jethro Tull, early Santana and the Beatles for a live performance that leaves the audience gobsmacked. Jarrah also performs around Victoria solo or with Dan and Alejandro

His debut Ep ‘The Crown Jewels’ 2006 was a dangerous precursor to the highly anticipated releases of his album ‘Stargazer’ due late 2008. The album showcases the versatility of his songs with high energy rock/latin/blues tracks to finger picking soul with a live orchestra.

A must see…..
