(Feb. 14, 2008 – Atlanta, GA) The true spirit of Atlanta emerges at The Soul Rush Music Company with the debut album, S.A.F.E., from JARREN BENTON. S.A.F.E., which is an acronym for Stress, Anger, Frustration, and Entertainment, will arrive in stores on April 1st. JARREN BENTON will be performing “Southern Man” and other songs from S.A.F.E. at the Catalina Hotel in Miami, FL on March 27, 2008, as well as regularly throughout Atlanta over the next two months. Jarren will also be a part of THE BACK TO MUSIC SERIES at The Vinyl at the CW Midtown Music Complex on March 29, 2008.
The anthemic debut single from S.A.F.E. is “Southern Man,” featuring infectious production by THE BEAT GODS. “Most of the people who dig my music are just regular music fans,” JARREN says of “Southern Man,” “so I wanted to create something that had a broad appeal.” The single, co-written with JARREN’S partner in THE BEAT GODS, SPITZWELL, has a classic soul and rock feel that has had Atlanta buzzing since September of 2007. “Southern Man” also won JARREN a chance to perform at THE ATLANTIS MUSIC CONFERENCE’S TENTH ANNIVERSARY showcase on September 22.
“Southern Man” and “2 Turntables And A Microphone” have both been gaining spins on ATLANTA’S BIG STATION V-103. Both songs premiered on RYAN CAMERON’S afternoon radio show, and are a big part of DJ HERB’S weekend shows. “Southern Man” and “Why” have been the two crowd favorites around JARREN’S hometown of Atlanta so far this year, and JARREN has been featured on Hot 107.9’s Akini Da Blac Mac’s ATL’s Most Wanted Talent’s Best of the Best competition.
In addition to “Southern Man,” “2 Turntables And A Microphone,” and “Why,” other standout tracks on S.A.F.E. include the raucous “Decatur” featuring DUNGEON FAMILY EAST’S JAWZ OF LIFE, and “I Can’t Make U” featuring NESS LEE and POODIE DA BYZ. The entire set was produced by THE BEAT GODS who have produced records for B.O.B., JAWZ OF LIFE, and STANZA.

Jarren Benton is an artist that lacks focus just not the way that your mama or homeroom teacher might suggest. Simply put, this guy has more personality and mood swings than Cybil on a speedball. Literally every single song is performed in a different style.
Hailing from Decatur, GA, Jarren is a rare find .a Grady baby and a true native Atlantan. Jarren was born in the 1980s and has been influenced by all the beauty and horrors of past three decades. He has been a virtual professional rapper since his days as a pre-teen forming his first rap group at the age of 10. Since that time he has been writing, recording, and performing at a consistently high level over the past 15 years. He has developed a smart aleck style that is a perfect balance of hardcore and conscious rap. He is often compared to Redman, Eminem, and Ludacris. Today Jarren has brought his presentation full circle serving as arranger, producer, composer, lyric writer, publisher, and executive producer of his current work in progress S.A.F.E. which is an acronym for Stress Anger Frustration and Entertainment.
As a soloist, or as a member of the Beat Gods, Jarrens live shows can be just as wily and unpredictable as his records, similar to what it must have been like to experience Jimi Hendrix live. Jarrens shows are the combination of intense energy and a very loud hardcore rap sound. High volume, limitless energy, reckless abandonment, and the timing of a master comedian are just a few ways to describe his performances.
Beyond his live show, Jarrens records are truly refreshing and definite must haves for anyone who is a fan of intelligent and entertaining music. Jarren is the epitome of Show Business.
