Bio

Jasmine “J. Christine" Antoine is a vocalist from Houston, TX. Her music is a melting pot of sweet melodies, perfectly-placed harmonies, & sassy lyrical wordplay. On stage she is a force to be reckoned with as she possesses the rare gift of captivating her audience with her sweet, yet powerful voice and her natural stage presence.

Growing up studying her mother Cynthia Antoine sing and perform is what sparked Jasmine’s dream of pursuing music. She spent most of her childhood in Port Arthur, TX where she was influenced by zydeco, r&b, gospel, jazz, and hip-hop. Some of her biggest music inspirations include sultry vocalists such as Yolanda Adams, Jill Scott, Sade, Aaliyah, and Amy Winehouse. Even as a young girl Jasmine had a deep appreciation for complex lyricism and would often gravitate toward music that was considered "before her time".

Jasmine has graced many local stages including the famous House of Blues, Red Cat Jazz Cafe, Warehouse Live, and House of Dereon, even landing her own house gig at the acclaimed Phil & Derek’s at the young age of 19. Soon after, Jasmine took a chance and auditioned for American Idol where she impressed producers and celebrity judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, & Steven Tyler, surpassing tens of thousands of other participants and making it through to the last round of Hollywood week. Jasmine frequently performs at public, private, & corporate events all over Texas. Most recently, she has become a favorite at Houston's Martini Blu and Missouri City's B's Wine Bar.

In between coaching her vocal students, performing, and her role as the Director of Music at Midtown Family Worship Center, she is currently readying songs for her first project to be released Spring 2018. Although she is still deciding on a title, it can be described musically as nostalgia with a current twist. She beautifully ties in smooth jazz, hip-hop, and soul elements and touches lyrically on the subjects of love, relationships, heartbreak, faith, strength, & resilience.
