Bio
Jason Andors has made a name for himself with his groundbreaking and hilarious physical comedy. His brilliant true-to-life storytelling has audiences around the country calling him the Larry David of hip hop comedy (with hair). Jasons reputation and his love of performing in front of diverse audiences have led him into venues throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
How many white boys can force the notoriously hard to please audience at the Apollo to their feet? Jasons mother asks. Only Jason Andorsclosing his routine by acting out a pop-locking battle between him and the breakdancers hired for his Bar Mitzvah.
Being a Jewish kid in New York City when there wasnt even a police station in Central Park wasnt easy. Jason would get mugged and chased constantly. So at a young age he had to learn how to survive. This meant one of two things: fight or breakdance. Well, since fighting was out of the question, Jason convinced his good friend Normski of the Rocksteady Crew to teach him how to out-pop his assailants.
Jason eventually utilized these skills to hopscotch from eighth grade to LaGuardia High (the Fame school), and then smack into the middle of Lincoln Center at the prestigious School of American Ballet (which little girls without the proper turnout can only dream of attending). Unfortunately, while breakdancing at a Bar Mitzvah (as an adult for some extra cash), Jason had a freak accident, forever sabotaging his future as a dancer.
These are just a few of the experiences that unravel a mans psyche and can turn him either into stone or into a stand-up comic. The only logical result of all of this?
Jason has appeared on BETs Comic View four times, and Comedy Centrals Premium Blend. On all of them he received standing ovations! Just last year, he appeared on HBOs Bad Boys of Comedy; Showtime at the Apollo (as a guest comedian); Raymann is Laat (Holland); and could recently be seen on White Boyz in the Hood (a Vibe/Lions Gate production, which he also associate-produced), and Byron Allens Comics Unleashed.
Its rare in this age of comedy to walk out of a nightclub and feel like youve watched a show. You feel that when you watch Jason Andors perform.Backstage
Jason is presently helping to write, develop and produce a new animated series called Urbania, along with artist and creator Justin Bua, the Dust Brothers, and some of the producers and directors from The Simpsons and King of the Hill. He will be doing a few of the lead voices as well. Jason also wrote a screenplay that he and his writing partner plan on starring in.
