""What It Seems" Review"

With his 11 original songs on 'What It Seems', singer, guitarist and songwriter Jason Bean builds to a big ending. Within the songs, Bean knows HOW to work his words and the music by his tight band. Brother Chris Bean on drums, pianist Paul Thompson, guitarist Josh Grosvent and bassist Josh Coy all head steadily toward a crescendo.

They rock. They're bold. They're satisfying.

Thompson's keyboard dances as Jason Bean ratches up the angst on 'Lights & Chrome'. "You're too beautiful and kind, just the kind that I might like, make up my mind." He sings, "You can't get silence from a storm. You can't get wind to keep you warm. You can't go blind if you can't see. So don't expect no love from me."

The guitars get fiery and intense on the big, grand rocker 'Us'. The drums build tension in 'Better Now'. And they all come together in the closing look at life, 'Til I'm Old'.

""When History Lets You Go" Review"

Central New York singer-songwriter Jason Bean has plenty to say. The 23-year-old enlisted local singer-songwriting veteran Doug Moncrief to produce "When History Lets You Go," and the result is a 12-song collection that shines a bright light on Bean's words and actions. Bean's guitar is supported in a big way by brother Christopher Bean on drums and Paul Thompson on keyboards. Strange throbs with an interesting energy as Jason Bean sings, A face to forget, a name I couldn't place. No trace of regret caught up in her gaze. I love when mystery takes a form like that. Someone so close, defense comes undone. Send in the ghosts to dig up what you've shunned. I love when answers just come to you like that. The band shows rock 'n' roll potential with "Run a Little Faster," and "California" shows powerful instincts and great keyboard work to augment Bean's poetic verse. - The Post Standard - Syracuse NY

"Live at The Cove, LeMoyne College Review"

Jason Bean is a young artist whose stage presence and artistic voice is expanding by the minute. This last Friday, I was lucky enough to attend his performance at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY along with his ever growing fan base. The room of 50+ people, ranging from the collegiate to middle-aged, was treated to Jason Bean appearing, in rare form, with his full backing band consisting of his younger brother Chris Bean on kit and Paul Thompson on keys and backing vocals.

The show started strongly with a yet to be released song entitled "Let's Go For It." A gentle ballad that morphs itself into acoustic-power rock which clues the audience in early to the very essence of Jason's style; singable melodies surrounded by beautiful lyrics. With songs such as "All in All" with lines like "you'll live for this trend," Bean's intentional vagueness within his lyrics allows the audience the opportunity to create their own scenario to adapt a much more personal meaning to his words.

The performance, as always, was a spectacular listening experience from beginning to end. The 45 minute set seemed to last only 10 and you truly feel that Jason Bean is grateful for any and everyone in attendance. His star is shining exponentially brighter every time he steps up to the microphone, so be sure to check him out now while you can still afford to. Jason Bean is a singer-songwriter hailing from Syracuse in Upstate New York. His background in both music and theater laces his songs with a sometimes dramatic, sometimes playful, and sometimes implacable feel that can only be described as an alternative to the everyday. His first full-length album entitled "When History Let's You Go" was released in 2006, followed by another, "What It Seems" in 2008 and a fourth in production now.
