He played in churches for many years, recording his first CD at age 16, having never had a music lesson, nor knowing how to read notes! He played in local clubs in San Diego beginning three years ago with Calvin Romance & Quiet Storm (jazz), Earl Thomas (blues), opening for Everette Harp, Paul Taylor, Pamela Williams, Bruce Bruce (BET) and was the first African American to play the National Anthem at the new Petco Park for a Padre baseball game! The Jason Brown Band was just formed a little over six months, performing at the Del Mar Fair in June!
