"Jason Consolacion - HAAM"

"Jason Consolacion is one of the new breed of young, shard, and incredibly talented singer-songwriters that lets me know the future of music and songwriter in this country is in good hands - I mean really good hands. He's making audiences sit up and listen to his songs with craft and spirit way beyond his years. He's a fine player with great chops and a real knowledge of music and what it takes to craft a song. He's also a blast on stage." - Ken Gaines, President, Houston Association of Acoustic Musicians - Houston Association of Acoustic Musicians (HAAM)

"EVERYTHING'S OK CD Review - Music News"

"Jason has a voice that women love and men wish they had. His latest album has love songs that will make you want to hold the one you love. What a voice! Get this CD today and you'll be humming the songs all day tomorrow. So hug the next person you see and tell them 'Everything's OK'!" - Rachel Blomstrom, Music News - Music News

"Musician Profile - Houston Chronicle"

" ... After moderate success in bands on the high school party circuit, Consolacion got serious about songwriting while attending the University of Houston. He honed his skills by listening to the complex works of Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock.

Soon enough, Consolacion's sound caught the ear of MD Thompson, who promotes and produces local artists through his Ivory Tower Realizations. Thompson offered Consolacion the chance to record an EP, 2003's Uncertain Air.

The success of that collaboration led to 2004's Everything's OK, Consolacion's first full-length effort. It's a comfortable blend of pop hooks, easy guitar riffs and confident vocals highlighted by the tracks 'Back Where We Belong' and 'Stare (Yeah, Yeah),' a melodic gem anchored by the inevitable sing-along. Consolacion even offers up a smooth eight-minute funk take on Bobby Brown's 'My Prerogative' that truly simmers ... " - Joey Guerra, Houston Chronicle - Houston Chronicle

Jason Consolacion (pronounced like the word "consolation") has established himself as an impressive singer-songwriter, catching the ear of an expanding audience. His style of rock incorporates a number of elements, including folk, jazz, blues and funk.

A graduate of Houston's nationally-renowned High School For The Performing And Visual Arts, and always dedicated to being a student of all types of music, Jason has used his knowledge of various styles to incorporate a concoction that has been described as "a cross between Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder."

Jason was born in Vancouver, British Columiba, and moved with his parents and younger sister to Houston when he was 6. The son of a concert pianist, Jason turned the influence from his mother into a dream that has led him to where he is today - playing his songs and affecting people with pop- and jazz-laden melodies and lyrics everyone can relate to.

Jason's musical influences cover a large variety of personalities, including the aforementioned Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Presley, Elton John, The Police, and, of course, his mom.

Those who have heard Jason's songs live or on disc have been taken by the freshness of the writing, singing and playing. Now living in New York, the singer-songwriter hopes to continue to play for as many people as he can while maturing as a respectable musician.

Jason has played at such venues as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, The Cutting Room, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Cornelia Street Cafe, Arlene's Grocery, Caffe Vivaldi, and Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City; Genghis Cohen's in Los Angeles; Middle East, The Burren, The Asgard, and Skybar in Boston; and Ovations Jazz Club, Anderson Fair, Main Street Crossing, McGonigel's Mucky Duck and The Artery in Houston. Jason has also performed at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, in 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2013.

In 2014, Jason signed on with the artist development firm Big Noise Now. See Jason's Artist Page here.
