BandRockAdult Contemporary

Jason D'Amore writes from the heart, using song writing as his own personal diary. Jason creates journeys with his compositions and has been inspired by many great musical acts (Queen, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, etc.) Jason's drive is to become that inspiration for somebody else.

Biography

Jason D'Amore has been writing and performing music for over 10 years. His main instrument has always been the guitar but Jason is also proficient in playing the drums, piano, bass guitar, synthesizer, as well as singing.

In 1996, Jason enrolled into Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY. He studied music theory under Joe Carbone, Peter Rogine and Alan Mandel (to name a few). Jason graduated in 2000 with a degree in Music.

What sets Jason apart from other musicians is his unique sound and style, which he attributes to his musical influences that range from Queen to Nirvana, from Elvis Presley to Lou Reed.

"I enjoy writing elaborate compositions as well as very simple ones and I strive to always write from my heart and be as honest as I can be. If somebody can relate to one of my songs or find comfort, in any way, from one of my songs then I feel I have done my job." - Jason D'Amore

Gone Away

Written By: Jason D'Amore

When the sun comes up I'm gonna go away
(gone away, gone away, gone away, gonna...)
and these same sad feelings are about to stay
(gone away, gone away, gone away, gonna...)
and in my heart my soul don't wanna wake up
(gone away, gone away, gone away, gonna...)
cause what's gone is lost don't wanna give it up, now

I said, "and don't you go blaming my fears & anxiety, no
and don't you go playing my card of psychology"
my love aint in love with me, she took it away
and that's all there is to say

I guess I'm gonna let down my guard today
what once was mine is now gone away
I wish she told me before she wanted to break up
I'm looking forward to the other side of this particular rut now

I said, "and don't you go blaming my fears & anxiety, no
and don't you go playing my card of psychology"
my love aint in love with me, she took it away
and that's all there is to say

why weren't you there for me (when you said you'd always be there)
I was holding on (to something not real)
your control was strong (for one that can't feel)
why weren't you there for me (when you said you'd always be there)
I was holding on (to something not real)
your control was strong (for one that can't feel)

and as the sun went down I guess I'm here to stay
I may be far away but it's a similar day
I said "yeah I walk alone"
cause here I am on the other side of that particular rut now

On This Lonely Night

Written By: Jason D'Amore

I wanna wake up and smile
and shovel off of this pile
all the dirt collected in style
I wanna wake up and say
where are my worries today?
and what's the price I must pay, everyday

Oh, it's so cold inside of me on this lonely night
oh no, it's a waste of energy

I wanna wake up with you
after I break up with you
for all the shit I've been through
that pain has all gone away
I don't know what else to say
sometimes I wish I was gay

Oh, it's so cold inside of me on this lonely night
oh no, it's a waste of energy

Oh, it's so cold inside of me on this lonely night
oh no, it's a waste of energy

Sunshiny Place

Written By: Jason D'Amore

I can't speak cause I never spoke
say what's real and I start to choke
save my pride as I tell the joke
have another beer as I smell the smoke
watch them laugh as I cry inside
dare to be bold, dare to be wise

I won't sink cause I never sank
a heart made of stone leaving me all alone
how do I call out, when do they turn around
need some understanding before I'm lost in the crowd

I want to go to a sunshiny place
I have to know all my thoughts are in place
I need to show no one stands in my place
for a lot to learn, I've got a lot to face

Keep a sharp tongue with an open heart
I don't wanna worry if I'm dumb or smart
reaping what I sow, sowing what I reap
falling out of love means I got off cheap

I want to go to a sunshiny place
I have to know all my thoughts are in place
I need to show no one stands in my place
for a lot to learn, I've got a lot to face

I want to go to a sunshiny place

When The River Runs Dry

Written By: Jason D'Amore

I know what I feel, can't deny
when the moment is real I won't set it aside
God must have chose you for a reason
It's easier to feel that it was just your time

when you're far from home, don't forget me
when every-thing's known, don't regret me
I love you so, now you know

The last moments we shared were not the same
you said I will carry on the family name
It isn't so easy to stay strong
when the river runs dry, it's time to move on

when you're far from home, don't forget me
when every thing's known, don't regret me
I love you so, now you know

Do you know, how you've touched my soul?
Do you know... you've shown me a life where I can be in control
Do you know... you'll live in my heart and you'll live in my soul
Do you know?

I gotta feeling that you know.... I gotta feeling that you know

A Way Out Of Here

Written By: Jason D'Amore

She don't go out much and all of her friends are out of touch
a broken heart with no love and all these guys just want her...

alone, alone, alone
she's just trying to find a way...
a way out....
a way out of here

she's feeling the season; she has no, no feeling
she's feeling the season and she has no, no feeling

She don't go out much and all of her friends are out of touch
a broken heart with no love and all these guys just want her...

alone (she don't use her hand), alone (she don't understand), alone
yeah she's just tryin' to find a way...
a way out....
a way out of here

alone (she won't use her hand), alone (she don't understand), alone
yeah she's just tryin' to find a way...
a way out....
a way out of here
