Bio

Jason Daniello is a New Mexican singer/songwriter who has been delivering energetic and passionate performances in the regional southwest for over a decade. Albuquerque's Weekly Alibi has described "...a moody, vague psychedelic undercurrent to Daniello's rockish folk songs...an air of desert-at-midnight desolation in his...evocative lyrics."

Jason grew up in the small uranium mining town of Grants, New Mexico, and strummed his first guitar looking out over the mesas and the sagebrush. He moved on up to the "big city" of Albuquerque, and soon formed Naomi, contributing to a renaissance of the local music scene. Rising alongside bands such as Hazeldine, The Shins, and Scared of Chaka, Naomi grew in popularity, touring extensively throughout the southwest and releasing two CD's. In 1996 the band grew apart and thus spawned Jason's solo career.

To Date, Jason has released one full length solo CD entitled "Re-creation" which has been praised by the Weekly Alibi for its "...unbeatable combo of multi-tracked acoustic guitars accented with...Daniello's wonderfully layered singing..." This album celebrates the human experience in its full spectrum, as Jason shares his perspectives with understanding, empathy and kindness. His earnest melodies catch your ears, making it easy to find yourself humming his songs.

Those songs helped win Jason local awards for MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR, BEST MALE VOCALIST, BEST ACOUSTIC SOLO BAND, and HONORABLE MENTION in the 2002 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival. He's opened for many national acts, including The Jayhawks, Little Feat, Morphine, Gov't Mule, and The Who.

Jason is currently in the studio working on his second studio CD "Everything Good," slated for release in Winter 2003. He continues to perform and tour around the southwest and beyond, spreading his famous grin to all who hear him play.
