Bio
As a traveler and passionate acoustic musician, Jason Esler’s unique sound conjures a diverse array of influences, from Americana artists like James McMurtry and Greg Brown, to the Alaskan frontier and the open road. In the live setting, Jason often chooses to forego written composition for ad lib improvisation, letting both his surroundings and experiences shape and inspire new material. In fact, his first album, Storyteller, was recorded in a pure, unrehearsed style in a single day, each song being captured on the first take. Jason’s improvisational experimentation continues to not only lay the groundwork for his songcraft and recorded material, but it offers an insightful and fresh perspective on everything from mountain life to modern politics.
