"Special Times for Farnham"

"...Jason's instrumental piano music is soothing to listen to after a long hard day's work..."

-Chris Pugh, The Buzz - The Massillon Independent, Massillon, OH (1/28/06)

"Jason Farnham- 'Barriers'"

"At his best (e.g. 'The Magician's Life'), Canton's Jason Farnham plays the kind of gorgeous pop that explodes onto radio fully formed."

"...'Morning Coffee', like all the songs, bubbles over an unplugged foundation, with enough electronic flourishes to keep the mix hopping, even when the lyrics drift back to the New Age realm, as on 'First Man on Mars'.

-DX Ferris, Clubs Editor

"HOMEGROWN"

"It's funny, one of the most engaging CD's I've heard froma local musician in a while sounds like an import from the U.K."

"Jason Farnham's music may sound like it comes from the U.K., but it's from right here..."

-Dan Kane, Entertainment Editor

"JASON FARNHAM –‘FIRST MAN ON MARS’ (FROM ‘BARRIERS’)"

"...That's what you'd expect from a song about a celestial planet! Very expert musicality; I'd like to hear more from the artist."

-Rosalie Howarth, writer/personality: KFOG, The Putumayo World Music Hour
- The Big Ugly Review, San Francisco (7/17/06)

"Soul-Soothing Music Fills Musician's New CD"

'Special Times' is "soul-soothing music...it's the kind of soothing album to put on after a hectic day at work, or while attempting to wake up over morning coffee."

"...The 30 year old musician is nothing if not diverse."

-Dan Kane, Entertainment Editor

"JASON FARNHAM: 'BARRIERS'"

"Jason's sound is like alternative adult contemporary, plus jazzy, and classical all at once, with some subtle UK trip-hop beats and an artful piano lead. I immediately pictured a happy sunny day when his song came up, this IS feel-good music. If Yanni got caught in a tornado with Dido and Moby's electronic percussion, it would blend together to form the sounds of Jason Farnham."

"JASON FARNHAM: Martian???"

"'First Man on Mars', #3 off the album 'Barriers' is an eclectic mix of piano, synthesizer, electric guitars, drums, and a megaphone. Thanks to Jason's keen musical ear, he avoids the telescope altogether, packs me up on his spaceship of sound and transports me to Mr. Big Red Planet himself. By the time I'm half way through the song, I'm ready to kiss Mrs. Earth goodbye and start learning the ways of a Martian. That's how good Farnham's songs are; they make me want to go alien! With his complex intricate music patterns it's easy to overlook Jason's true gift: songwriting." -Deron Wade, Ijamr.com magazine - Deron Wade - Ijamr.com Magazine

"JASON FARNHAM- 'BARRIERS'"

"Songs from this L.A.-based artist are well-crafted, deftly produced and, thanks to Farnham’s nasally vocal delivery, convey a hopeful optimism. “Spin”is the out-and-out winner here; a radio-friendly song with a big hook that’s perfectly teed up and whacked over the fence."

Bio

Born in New York City, Jason actually grew up in Canton, Ohio. His parents started him on piano lessons at the age of 4, but he quickly grew tired of playing classical music and started searching for something else. Jason's interest in Euro style bands began after he saw U2's Zoo TV Tour at the Cleveland Coliseum during his high school years. He was so impressed that he started listening to bands like Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, and Peter Gabriel, and began writing his own music, building his songs around his primary instrument, the piano. After developing his sound, recording his first CD 'Barriers' in Toronto, and playing shows around Ohio, Jason made the move to Los Angeles, where he quickly adapted to the SOCAL music scene.

Within the past 18 months of moving to Los Angeles, Jason has formed his band and aquired a dedicated fan base, playing shows to packed houses at The Mint, BB King's (Universal City Walk), Key Club, The Joint, Cat Club, The Whisky a GoGo, and Temple Bar (Santa Monica). The L.A. based band plays to a sequence including techno loops and sound effects, resulting in a hard-hitting and danceable live performance.

Take for example "First Man on Mars", from the album 'Barriers' and the 5th song on Jason's setlist. It is an "eclectic mix of piano, synthesizer, electric guitars, drums, and a megaphone. Thanks to Jason's keen musical ear, he avoids the telescope altogether, packs you up on his spaceship of sound and transports you to Mr. Big Red Planet himself. By the time you're half way through the song, you're ready to kiss Mrs. Earth goodbye and start learning the ways of a Martian. That's how good Farnham's songs are; they make you want to go alien! With his complex intricate music patterns it's easy to overlook Jason's true gift: songwriting." -Deron Wade, Ijamr.com magazine (7/07).

‘Barriers’ is quickly gaining national attention. ‘First Man on Mars’ is the official theme song for the 4Frontiers Corporation’s Mars exploration campaign. It is also the musical track for the 30-second animated Mars flyby video, which can be seen on the official 4Frontiers website: www.4frontierscorp.com. Track 4 ‘Spin’ was featured on the Montel Williams Multiple Sclerosis Music Fest 2006 Compilation CD for the Pop/Rock/Alternative genre.
