Bio

"Your a Paper Product Abuser", "Tico Tico", "Cunnilingus". These are some of the songs. “Zappa influenced”, “Reminds me of Ween”, “It sounds like the Monkeys” “Vocals sound like Hendrix”. These are some of the common responses people have said after hearing Jason Fraticelli & the Wet Dreams. Jason leads the group while playing guitar, cuatro (a Latin American 10 string guitar from Puerto Rico) and upright bass (his main instrument in which he plays like he’s transcending Satan’s sexual energy). He also fronts the band vocally along with others in the ‘Dreams’ thus having a three part harmony aspect in the music that can be reminiscent of the sounds of the 60’s. The music tends to go from one extreme to the next. At one point it sounds like Bela Fleck/Dave Matthews and then it turns into a Roger Waters solo album.

Over the last ten years or so, Jason Fraticelli has been primarily an upright bassist. He has been more of a sideman/collaborator with people from all walks of music. He has performed with Billy Martin, Ursula Rucker, Marco Benevento & Joe Russo, Cyro Baptista, and Bobby McFerrin. He has also toured with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Melody Gardot, and Matisyahu, while recording with artists such as Johny Gutwillig (Disco Biscuits), Lady Alma, and G Love. He has been immersed in the Philadelphia and Brooklyn music scene for the past decade and performed, toured, and recorded with many local groups and musicians as well, such as Grandfather Ridiculous, As Human, Oudblues, Aaron Dugan, Mark Guiliana, and Taylor McFerrin’s Cell Theory.

‘The Wet Dreams’ is Jason’s outlet for his schizophrenic musical behavior. It combines his assorted past with his vision for sound thus resulting in a live show that will be sure to cause smiles, dancing, and lots of laughs.
