Jason Jones

I grew up in a small town just south of Tallahassee...Wakulla Station. It’s always fun hearing people try to say it right! I come from a family of hardworking truck drivers, raised by my Dad and Stepmom. My parents divorced when I was three so I spent most of my childhood traveling back and forth between Georgia and Florida for holidays, school breaks, etc. I have two older sisters, a younger brother, and a handful of stepbrothers and sisters.

I was a pretty shy and quiet kid who never cared much for being the center of attention. Its amazes me what I chose to do for a living! My dad bought me my first guitar when I was 13. I got to open it early...I'll never forget that date: December 18th. I quit playing sports after that and made sure to make good grades so I wouldn't get that guitar taken away.

I can't tell you how many countless hours I spent on that guitar figuring out songs on the radio and learning how to play by ear, learning how to read and write music. When I was fifteen, I put my first band together in high school. Some of my best memories come from that time. The one that sticks out the most is an old house on my Dad's property that we convinced him to let us use as our 'Band House'. We practiced, put on shows and of course threw a crazy party or two!

After High School, I spent two years at Tallahassee Community College and a semester at FSU, but fate brought me to Texas for a talent competition with my cousin Tommy. After that trip, life put me on the path to Nashville, where I decided I needed to be. So here I am in Nashville after eight years(?), still chasing my dream, living in a little house with my dog Chance, writing songs everyday and surrounded by a band of amazing musicians and friends. I miss my family, but I have the best fans ever who allow me to pursue my dream as a career.

I also just started recording for my first album for Warner Bros. and I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am! I have a great team of smart and talented people that I get to work with who believe in me, and I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to all of them. Right now, that is my story in a nutshell.
