Jason Knight

My name is Jason Knight and I guess you can describe me as the Singer/Songwriter type. But before I ever started writing songs I started as a Worship leader, leading Youth in the Worship of our Creator. Behind every song I sing or play, whether it is a worship song or an original tune, I play with passion to honor and glorify my Lord and Savior. I grew up in the little town Mt. Airy in Maryland and have lived there for 21 years now. I've watched as my family, a very musically gifted family, traveled around the area playing music and from a very young age I knew that music was in my blood, and more importantly it was what I was meant to do. At the age of 12 is when I really began to start my journey as a so called Singer/Songwriter, and though many of my early songs were really really bad, I was learning, and growing the gifts God had given me. My first love was always singing and I got to the point where I was tired of asking others to play for me to sing so I started teaching myself how to play the acoustic guitar. By playing worship songs each and every week I started to pick up chord structures and with every passing song and chord I was starting to become a real guitar player and started writing my own songs. Over the years and over many songs, I've written my life story so far, from relationships gone wrong, to the understanding that I am nothing on my own in this world. But whats nice about my life is that its far from over and it seems that with every passing moment I have some new adventure to write about. Over the last few years I've really started to pick up the piano as well, writing two or three piano songs. There are many musicians and songwriters out there, like most of them I just wish that my music can bring hope to someone, even if just one person my job is done. I hope that one day I have the chance to play larger venues but until that day I will cherish the small coffee houses and backyard get togethers I get to play at now.
