TOYOTA STAR MAKER GRAND FINALIST RELEASE’S DEBUT EP
Sydney based Country Singer/Songwriter; Jason Lee has completed one of his longtime coming goals! “To record his debut record with one of Australia’s well known producers, “Herman Kovac”, from Ramrod Studios at Davidson”.
The self titled EP, “Jason Lee” is the Rolls-Royce of material previously performed by the young up and coming artist.
The first single “Boy into a Man”, released from the debut EP, is a song co-written by one of Australia’s finest Singer/Songwriters, “Travis Collins”.
Collins’ wrote the track whilst touring the US, and by email, sent the acoustic demo to Jason Lee and with a glance, Jason Lee decided that it was going to be the debut single.
“I really think Travis had me in mind when writing this song”, “For a person with no kids or ties to kids, can write a song like this is just beyond me” Jason Lee says.
Some of Jason Lee’s achievements include, being named NSW & ACT Championship Showcase winner in 2005 where he gained an automatic entry into Toyota Star Maker, where he competed against over 250 people and won his place in the Top 10 Grand final not only in 2005, but also 2006, named NSW Champion of Champions winner in 2006 and became a 2006 CMAA Australian College of Country Music Graduate.
Jason Lee has been support for some of his fellow industry friends, such as, Travis Collins, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey and The McClymonts.
“It’s a long road ahead of me with this new record, but I’m ready”, “ready to take on the heavy load that lie ahead of me”, Jason Lee says.
As well as original material, the debut EP features a John Williamson classic “Cootamundra Wattle”.
Recording Cootamundra Wattle was one of the highlights of the EP, Jason Lee says.
Cootamundra Wattle is one of those songs you can relax and sing from your heart, and push the points across. People take a lot in life for granted and this tune is definitely one that makes you think about just that. “Jason Lee says”.
Quite often you hear when an artist has covered someone else’s song, particularly a song like Cootamundra Wattle, you sit back and go oh yeah, “what’s this going to be like”,
But absolutely beautiful, Your vocals do an absolutely amazing job.

Jason Lee has been a Country Music devotee since an early age, picking up his first guitar at the age of nine. Now, five years into a professional career, Jason is one of the best new talents on the Country Music landscape.
Jasons sometimes strong, sometimes quiet but always emotive vocals, draw you deeply into anything he chooses to sing and that shows within the material he chooses and writes.
Jasons early accolades include taking the public by storm competing against over 175 entrants in the NSW & ACT Championship Showcase and the NSW Champion of Champions in which he received an automatic entry two years running into one of Tamworths main events, Toyota Star Maker and also an automatic entry into the 2006 CMAA Australian College of Country Music.
Jason Lees other achievements include 2006 Steel City Male Vocal, 2006 Steel City Best Songwriter, 2006 Steel City King of Country .
After College 2006 and Toyota Star Maker, Jason took the ball and ran with it and has never taken a step back. Jason Lee says There's not much I'd rather do than sing and play Country Music. To make something of yourself, you need to show that you are capable and keen to put in the hard yards, because hoping is just not enough.
Since 1998, Jason has been performing across New South Wales and Queensland and his untiring commitment and professionalism have earned him the respect of venue owners and his industry peers alike.
Jason has just completed the first of his goals having recorded his debut E.P. with one of Australias most respected producers, Herm Kovac, at Ramrod Studios.
Jasons first single Boy Into A Man was co-written and co-produced by Travis Collins, another of Australias finest up-coming talents and reflects Jasons ability to move you with his emotional vocals and deliver the understanding and depth of the song. Its already receiving airplay across Australia.
