Born in Collingwood Ontario, Jason showed an interest in music at an early age. Finding melodies on a variety of instruments as young as seven, as well as a being a natural on the drums, he soon discovered guitar and didn't look back. Songwriting soon followed, and at seventeen Jason won his first songwiting contest with a latin composition called Tourista L'america. Inspired, he quickly produced his first cd titled Jason Redman. Recieving airplay on Collingwood, Barrie, and Owen Sound radio stations as well as a live performance on the Mix 106 in Owen Sound, this first cd gave Jason the opportunity to make music a full time career.

His next cd, Blue Oblivion, was met with equal enthusiasm and furthered his reputation as an up and coming singer/songwriter not to be ignored. Several of the songs from this cd as well as few other original tracks made their way to television appearing on 'Alternate Routes' on OLN and 'Red Light Districts'.

His third release, A Better View, was a breakthrough album attracting the interest of numerous folk societies and a small army of new, loyal fans. It has also opened the door to the world of folk festivals where Jason put on memorable performances at Summerfolk in Owen Sound as well as the Watershed Festival in Collingwood and the Barrie Folk Festival.

With his latest release, Starlight Drive, Jason is certain to broaden an already large fanbase and add a little more appeal to the world of independant music.

Jasons main influences are Bob Dylan and Blue Rodeo but his favourite artist has always been Van Morrison. "Strong lyrics have always been very important to me and few have mastered the art of wordcraft like Dylan". "I have always admired Blue Rodeo's ability to play country music without the listener feeling too hoakey. Niel Young does this too. They are able to reach a much larger audience this way and it's something I strive for".
