Bio
Real, soulful, dark, and humorous- Jason Shoulders’ music is nothing but honest. While songs have a tendency to lean toward the intricacies of romance, they are laced with Southern charm.
Jason graduated college in December of 2006, backpacked through Europe, had a four month stint in Finland playing professional football, and finally wound up back in Tennessee. He told his brother, "I've been writing songs."
His first CD Aint No Tellin' was an independant effort, recorded in a friends makshift studio. Much like his live shows Aint No Tellin' has been deemed as "sincere...embedded with raw emotion."
Shared the stage recently with:
Cory Branan, The Loft, Randolph Robinson
Some influences include:
Paul Simon, John Prine, Nick Drake, Dave Matthews, Ben Kweller, Mason Jennings, Elvis, Tom Petty, Cory Branan, Chris Curtis, Fionn Regan, Damien Rice, James Taylor, D.H. Lawrence, Chris McCandless, Humphrey Bogart, Holden Caulfield, Southern women, Tennessee, William Blake, Jules Verne, brunettes, George Lucas, and Doctor Zhivago.
