We got the chance to sit down and do a phone interview with Jason and this is what he had to say on the subject of Music,Vegemite and Super powers

Jason Terry: That would be a unreleased song I wrote called "roll with the punches" its an emotional song Its about living in Nashville and the people you meet are all willing to help you but in the end they cross you.Its about finding out who people really are.I grew up in a small town in East Tennessee I thought I had to go to Nashville if I wanted to get anywhere..I moved back home but i continue to do my music

What do you think of your fans?
Jason Terry: Wow my fans support has blown me away on Facebook they message me,on Twitter they Retweet and Tweet me ,they spread the word.If it wasn't for the fans i wouldn't continue to do what I'm doing....The Australian fans well I'm speechless really speechless. They are such great people It really does blow me away I'm planning a tour there hopefully in 2012

If you had a super power what would yours be?
Jason Terry: ...I think this is the toughest question I've ever been asked ...I would say seeing the future because I'm impatient I would like to know the outcomes of Things I do like music projects....Then again I would probably regret it..I wouldn't end up taking risks

Who do you think is the hottest country female?
(laughs) ...wow I'm going to have to say Miranda Lambert,I don't know what it is Her voice makes her sexy.(laughs) I'm probably gonna get shot by Blake now

In your opinion who is the most underrated country singer?
Jason Terry:I'm hesitating on this one because he is getting a lot more exposure now that he has signed with Valory Music Co. but I will say Brantley Gilbert. He is a great songwriter.Country music use to be more about the music now it seems to be about the money the industry control everything Brantley keeps it real ,He's a down to earth guy from what I have heard .

"Jason Terry: East Tennessee Native Finds The Inspiration"

The road to country music stardom is long and winding, and success is often determined by how well you can avoid the potholes. For Jason Terry, however, there’s a literal road to go along with the figurative one.
“I recently just moved back to my hometown, and I commute here every other week,” Terry says.
Two years ago, he moved from his hometown of Onida, Tenn. to Nashville to pursue his dreams of becoming a country musician. But not long ago he felt he needed to move back in order to help take care of ailing family members—his mother has rheumatoid arthritis and his grandmothers were in bad health.
He seems to be someone who is always moving two steps forward and one step back.
As a kid, Terry was always a fan of music, and his parents always encouraged him. “My mom’s always wanted me to move to Nashville, since I was five years old,” he says. “She kept saying, ‘When you turn 18 you’re going to move to Nashville, and I’m going to be your manager.’”
As a teen he was in garage bands that played rock music, but always felt that his roots were in country. He was later in an unfortunate ATV accident that broke six of his ribs and bruised his kidney. The realization that life is frail led him to record a four-song Christian inspirational album in 2008 once he’d healed, and that EP was accompanied by a small tour that benefited kids who were addicted to drugs and alcohol.
It was after releasing that album and touring that Terry decided he wanted to fully dedicate his time becoming a musician, albeit playing country music rather than Christian and inspirational songs.
“Looking back on it,” he says, “a lot of the songs that I would write—as far as the Christian stuff—you could hear the country influence on it.”
He spent two years in Nashville, meeting people and shaking hands, writing songs and playing shows. He was starting to make a little headway when he was called back home to Onida.
But he certainly hasn’t given up on being a musician. Right now he’s a full time paramedic, working seven days straight, followed by a week in Nashville or on the road. He spends his time in Music City co-writing—this week he wrote with Doug Littlejohn and Amanda Lynn—playing shows and recording.
He’s put out two singles and is currently working on a full-length debut album that he expects to be released at the end of the year. He cites varied influences from Travis Tritt to Lynyrd Skynyrd and is always working to push his own musical boundaries: “I just got out of the studio yesterday with a new duet with Amanda Allen from the group Savannah. That was something new that I’ve not done, a duet.”
On October 8th, he’ll be playing in Mershon, Georgia, opening for the likes of Kason Layne and Brantley Gilbert.

"Jason Terry: Music Makes Him Whole"

JASON TERRY - MUSIC MAKES HIM WHOLE
written by Rick Amburgey

Jason Terry is slowly making a name for himself and hearing himself on the radio more often. For Terry, it’s been a process and he’s definitely not an overnight success, not that Terry is complaining a bit. He’s just grateful to be able to do what he loves.

Terry said he got started by “basically observing” in downtown Nashville in 2009. In 2010, he started playing at the Commodore Grille With Debbi Champion and he also landed a regular slot playing in a round at the Nashville Palace.

Those opportunities allowed Terry to meet people like Scott Collier, who plays regularly in downtown Nashville in venues like Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Collier, in turn, introduced Terry to Gary Hannan, who has written such hits as “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” for Joe Nichols and “Back When I Knew It All” for Montgomery Gentry. Terry also performed at Hannan’s Beer For Breakfast, which was held at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.

Terry, who lives in Knoxville, is currently promoting his single “What Makes Me Whole.” Terry described the tune as more of a rocking song. “Everybody told me I needed to release something that’s gonna tell the world exactly who I am,” Terry said. He wants this single to introduce him as an artist and get some radio airplay. He has another single prepared to release in June.

Though Terry is currently based in Knoxville, he is in Nashville every other week. A radio tour is planned, which he says will focus primarily on East Tennessee and Middle Tennessee. He is talking with some venues in Nashville and Knoxville for possible show dates. Terry also said he has some close connection with places close to University of Tennessee and also has a booking agent in Texas, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Although he is focusing on branding himself as an artist, he said he will continue to write. He added that he made himself a promise that he wouldn’t quit writing. “As long as I can do it, I want to continue to write and record songs,” he said. “Music is the perfect drug to me. That’s how I get my feelings out.” - Strum Magazine

Bio

When asked to describe himself in one word, Jason responded with "Eclectic".

Hailing from a small town in East Tennessee, Jason was raised on country music and always dreamed of singing in Nashville.
"It's been a long, crazy road to get to where I am today and it is just the beginning."

Jason released a self-produced Christian/Inspirational album entitled "The Way" in 2008. After working with an agency and playing shows in TN and KY to promote the album, Jason set his eyes on Nashville and began to make a presence in the Country Music scene. "I was raised on country music and that is what feels natural to me."

"I am very excited about what the future holds and I'm ready to hang on tight and enjoy this crazy ride! I have been fortunate enough to share the stage with some of Nashville's most talented singers and songwriters. First and foremost, I thank God for making everything in my life possible. I would also like to thank my parents for all of their support through the years, John Weber at SPORTS CLIPS for being a great friend and making dreams come true, and Kim Flanagan at SOUL2SOUL ENTERTAINMENT for continued support.”

Jason has performed at the world-famous TOOTSIE'S ORCHID LOUNGE in Nashville during Gary Hannan's BEER FOR BREAKFAST, COMMODORE CAFE in Nashville, NASHVILLE PALACE, and many other venues.
