JASON WALKER
"For me, it's about following dreams. Always has been, always will be. Following the dream brought me to New York.

So began the triumphant journey for the electro soul wunderkind, Jason Walker.

In New York, Jason was taken under the wing of famed DJ and record producer Junior Vasquez, and together they produced 2006's This Is My Life, a debut album which so captivated the listening public that it went on to achieve three consecutive #1 Billboard hits - and, in doing so, confirmed Jason Walker as one of only a handful of young male artists capable of breaking through to a global dance audience. Those songs of life and love, delivered in an octave well above any other male artist in pop music, proved conclusively that the small-scale and specific can strike a universal chord. Everywhere and ever since, fans have been hungry for more. And now, at last, a successor, Flexible is complete.

I titled the album Flexible because I felt it was an appropriate way to show people that I am a flexible artist, explained Walker upon announcing the release. I wanted to prove that I was able to sing many different styles of music. There's something for everyone on this record _ dance, big-room, pop, electro, and soul.

Flexible deals with matters of the heart, specifically the end of a relationship. Sadly, these were the issues Jason experienced during the process of recording the new album. One song in particular, Foolish Lover, I'm Sorry, written by the artist Deepa Soul, eerily echoed Jasons glum situation.

It came to me right after the break-up with my then-boyfriend, recalls Jason. I know its twisted but when I sing the track, its like I become him and I imagine him singing it to me.

Love hurts, he continues. But it helps to have a chance to enter your exes mind and see things through a different point of view. Luckily, its only the one song where I enter his mind. In other songs, I encapsulate other personalities. I actually got to play a lot of characters on the album.

Flexible was completed in two months; much quicker than Walkers first album, This Is My Life.

This Is My Life took time to come together. There were actually four singles released before the album came out. Flexible, on the other hand, happened a lot faster and it was creatively amazing for everyone involved.

In addition to Junior Vasquez, a host of music royalty lent their talents to the new album. Gary Brown, who wrote Believe and co-wrote "Set It Free" with Jason Walker on the first album, penned the Quentin Harris produced Superstar on the new album. Even Platinum recording artist Billie Myers best known for touring Lilith Fair with her rock hit Kiss The Rain added her golden touch to Flexible. She provided the title track on the album.

Billies song was my favorite track to record, says Jason. First of all, I love that it has an alternative lifestyle theme to it, and that its classy and elegant. The whole attitude of the song made for an interesting and fun recording session. Junior put his foot in the orchestral production and Steven Alexander did the vocal production and arranged the brilliant harmonies on the second verse. They werent there on Billie's version, but we thought that they would sound cool. When Billie heard the harmonies, she loved them and that of course made us very happy.

My goal was to show different sides of me on this album, he explains. I wanted to travel to different places, take people on a journey that was different than my first album. I think "I Can't Get You Off My Mind" is one of the best examples of the musical journeys on the record. Junior loved this song from the beginning and was adamant about including it on the album. I loved it to. The message fits in so well with the album and the chorus is off the hook. It will be actually be the first single off the album and I couldnt be more excited. I think that the song has the potential to widen my audience.

"I Can't Get You Off My Mind" releases to radio on clubs this month. Jason Walkers Flexible will be available for purchase online at i-Tunes and in major US music retail chains in Summer 2007.

Bio

Dance music can often be an accidental career. Many artists find themselves stumbling upon it as a means of boosting record sales, or as a way to revive a dying fan base. There are also musicians who only see dance music as a way to hit it big and then focus on the real music they always wanted to produce. Not Jason Walker. When he left his native Pittsburgh and
arrived in New York at the age of 24, his dream was to reinvigorate the ailing dance music scene. He had many obstacles along the way. The industry simply didn't know how to market a skinny white boy with the pipes and personality of a full-figured soul sister. It was
only when Walker was taken under the wing of famed record producer Junior Vasquez that people began to
take notice.

"Trying to break into the music industry has been a
real struggle," admits the now Billboard favorite. "I
was always being told that my look didn't match my
sound. I thought my looks made me different and that
my uniqueness would somehow give me an advantage. I was wrong." Then, on September 20, 2004, "Foolish Mind Games" topped the Billboard Dance chart. A few short months later on April 29, 2005, "Set It Free" made the number one spot as well. The successes haven't stopped there, however. Walker has since had two more top five singles, "My Life", and "No More", as well as a top ten hit with "Movin' On". Success on the charts has brought Walker press and exposure. Instinct Magazine recently stated that Walker was the top selling dance artist of the past year, singles and albums combined. His album, This is My Life (released on JVM) has remained in the iTunes Top 100 Dance Albums for nearly a year and a half.

Walker credits much of his success to the "superior
production skills" of Junior Vasquez. "My experience
with Junior," Walker says, "has been nothing short of
incredible. [He has] brought my music to a whole new
level. Having his name attached to my work has opened so many doors for me. My first single, My Life was released as "Junior presents Jason "My Life." It was a shameless marketing ploy, yes, but I would not have been heard otherwise. "My Life" ended up climbing to #3 on the Billboard Dance chart and won the 2004 HX award for "Best Dance Song of the Year." It was the first ever original, non-remix, song to win the title.

After a year of touring the country in 2006 in support
of his debut album, Walker's hard work was recognized
when he was nominated for an IDMA (International Dance Music Award) for Best New Dance Artist. Walker is currently continuing his collaboration with Vasquez,
as well as famed producer Quentin Harris, on his new
album, "Flexible" that will be in stores and on itunes
August 21, 2007. Until then, he continues his busy
touring schedule. He can be found at clubs, festivals,
and various other music events, from coast to coast.

Walker's album, "This Is My Life", can be found online
at the iTunes music library, and Beatport.com, as well
as at many major music retail stores, including Virgin
Megastores, Spec's, FYE, Sam Goody, Coconuts, Second
Spin, Wherehouse, and Strawberries.
