Nominated for a Latin Grammy Award and awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year in the Billboard Latin Music Awards, 2007, Javier Fernández Díaz, "Javier Voltage", is a fascinating and talented young Cuban musician who makes the city of Las Vegas his home.
Awarded the “Gatto de Oro", in Italy, 2004, he was asked to be Guest of Honor at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2007. This international recognition speaks for itself of the prestige and successful trajectory of this gifted artist who has played his music in more than 25 cities around the world.
Javier’s musical journey begins in his native Cuba, where he was born in the small town of Santa Fe in the seventies, making his musical debut with the group, “Montes de Espuma”, which served as a launching pad to his brilliant future cemented by his creation of “Clan 537”, the eminent rap group that forever changed the rich musical scene of the island.
The songs reflected the street creed and its problems in their lyrics, social issues and even anti-government themes, as in “Corazón de Hielo” (Heart of Ice), which was censured on radio and television, but with which the group exploded on a popular level. Another of the band’s most renowned hits was, “¿Quién Tiró la Tiza?” which became his passport into European soil.
After 2 tours that included more than 125 concerts in more than 23 cities of the Old Continent, from Bulgaria to Spain, Javier decides to make Italy his new country of residence. There, he quickly earned various nominations as Best Urban Group with his song, “¿Quién Tiró la Tiza?” as Best Salsa Rap in what is known as the Italian Grammy equivalent, the “Gatto d’Oro”.

This record production, which has Javier writing all the lyrics, expresses a socially smart message sure to resonate with his devoted fans. The young DJ Hully, who masterfully blends Rap, Hip Hop, and Reggaeton with Techno Pop, Cumbia, Merengue, ballads and even a bit of the famous Cuban Salsa, produces it in a native urban style.
