"Jay Fleming Releases powerful new single"

Oregon’s Jay Fleming has been perfecting his craft in barrooms across the United States for years, developing a voice that can silence even the rowdiest crowds with just one note. Informed by a century’s worth of outlaw country, earthbound blues, and gritty rock’n’roll, he is now releasing his first original single, ‘Beat The Drum.’

Fleming immediately evokes the old south, describing a journey through Vicksburg and Atlanta with “the devil at the wheel.”
The intensity of the subject matter fits his huge voice perfectly, as he delivers a convincing performance addressing the darkness and lust for violence that sleeps in the heart of man.

Despite its modern production, ’Beat The Drum’ is a song that sounds as though it could have been written anytime in the past 200 years. Addressing America’s abandonment of its working class, Fleming sings “They sold our birthright overseas and told us that we won.”

Through all his frustration, Fleming builds the song to a cathartic chorus, bringing back its message of redemption. It is a song that gets to the core of the American spirit and its constant search for salvation. - XTTRAWAVE

"Jay Fleming - Beat The Drum"

Jay Fleming is a singer and songwriter based in Eastern Oregon. He has a passion for Americana. Recently, he took to the Internet to release a brand new song titled “Beat The Drum.”

One of the most distinctive elements of this release is definitely the fact that Jay combines the intimacy of folk music with the energy of classic rock and everything in between.

If you enjoy the sound of iconic artists as diverse as Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, Electric Light Orchestra, Paul McCartney and Tom Petty, this one is going to be an absolute no brainer for you. Jay pours his heart out, singing with passion and emphasis. On “Beat The Drum,” he managed to create a sound that feels very natural and organic. Many artists tend to hide their voice or their musicianship under many layers of overproduction in the recording studio. However, this single release provides a more open and authentic take on Jay’s vocals and writing style.

Jay’s music feels effortlessly charismatic, yet it combines an enticing and direct appeal with lyrics that are obviously very expressive and genuinely thought-provoking.

If you enjoy songs that are heartfelt and direct, the one is definitely going to hit closer to home.
