Jay Forbes

From the moment he put pencil to paper, Jay Forbes knew he loved to write. He had a natural gift for descriptive writing, short stories and essays; but often skipped classes, just to get his thoughts onto paper. A hip-hop fan from an early age, Jay Forbes (aka Justin Forbes) started participating in some freestyle sessions with friends. He did well, but immediately wanted to be better. At age 15, he began applying his writing skills to hip-hop beats, and the rest is history. Based out of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Jay was one-half of local hip-hop duo "4-Ten". The pair recorded and released a full-length album, and a few acclaimed music videos. During their four-year timespan, they were seen sharing the stage with artists such as Xzibit, Swollen Members, and Moka Only. Having earned the respect of many fans on the East Coast, Jay is now pursuing his craft as a solo artist. The style in which he delivers his message is impactful, insightful, and deliberate. He wants to continue to write and perform, while constantly improving his game. Watch out for this rising star on the Canadian hip-hop scene.
