Discography

A number of my songs have been played on The Big H Radio Show, a podcast on Global Radio 1 where I have been described as a new talent, having my own style and being one to watch in 2009. These include 'What's Going On' 'Devil On Your Tail' and 'Hooked'. I recorded a 10 track album in 2008 to sell at gigs and am currently updating it for official release in Feb 2009 as it sold out fast and the Music has progressed since then. In the meantime I have recorded a three track EP with my band....which has also sold out and it adored by all who have heard it....re run of these on the way, and new songs being recorded for the next album.. too.

Bio

My writing 'style' is....uh, weird..it just happens. A self taught singer and pianist, my voice is unusual, I would say gentle and powerful...and people seem to love it. A thought or a moment in time will inspire me to sit at the piano and sing...from a deep desire to help friends who are too troubled to listen to words...to a silly dream like wishing I could fly to the moon, chuck a bloke off a boat, or fall in love...that kind of thing!! The music is eclectic...the band wonderful, creative and willing to try anything for me...quiet ambient moments, sometimes funky, and at times a heavier edge. It's difficult to find genres in the list which fit..but I think 'lyrical acoustic pop' works pretty well...(with a touch of Jazz, a sprinkling of Reggae, slightly Classical piano and a delicate dosage of Rock)
I've been gigging/recording for approx two years in various formats, but now play mainly with my four piece band, Timon and I also playing as a duo when the mood suits. I recorded my first album, 'Devil on Your Tail' at Dungeon Studios last spring (self penned, produced and financed) mainly in a duo format with Timon....with Jerry Soffe joining us on bass for some tracks, and Rich Haines engineering and adding some magical extra guitar parts and percussion. During this time, I met drummer Chris Rowntree and with his electric kit and huge talent he was able to add exactly the kind of unusual sound I wanted to the music. As the first run sold out fast I'm currently working on a re-run, but with a few changes: Chris on drums, Grebe Dallas adding some hamond/ string parts. We will be releasing this one officially sometime in February and have nearly finished a second album with this set up too. I love recording in the studio, but feel my music really comes into it's own when we play live...it is straight from the heart. With the current band, I have played all over Oxfordshire including The Riverside Festival, Woodstock live, numerous gigs at The Jericho Tavern and The Hollybush Witney to name but a few...and are out gigging extensively again whilst also finishing the second Album! I have written in excess of 40 songs, all with music and lyrics and just can't stop writing... My influences are vast and varied, being brought up with nothing but Classical music in the house, then finding Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, King Crimson, Camel and Steel Pulse in a secret exploratory trip to a record shop in Cambridge when I was 15. Since this revelation I have never stopped finding more and more artists I adore. I am frequently compared to Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush, among others and it is my absolute intention to be as respected and prolific as them.
