Bio

Joe Redmond (aka JaY aRe) is one of the foremost up and coming artists who remains unsigned. Joe was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 28th, 1990. After 5 years, he and his family moved to Aurora in hopes of a better life coming ahead for them. Joe attended school at Aurora Christian, where he was known for his athletic achievements in basketball and football. As an incoming Freshman at Greenville College in 2008, Joe was introduced to the music industry when he came into contact with rap group WARREN&wesley. Eventually, JaY aRe began to get involved in his own music, and what started out as a hobby has become a way of life. His first mixtape, "Re-Applied," established JaY aRe as an up and coming rapper and songwriter. He made a guest appearance on WARREN&wesley's 2nd studio album, "Reaching Fallen Arms," as well as producing 6 of the 15 released tracks. Meanwhile, JaY aRe has been working on his next mixtape, "How Far We've Come." It's theme is rooted in the talent that surrounds this young artist and how the struggles of making it big are becoming more of a reality and less of a distant dream. One can only sit back and watch as JaY aRe continues to grow as a young artist in the music industry.
As a kid, Joe looked up to Michael Jackson and his love for music. Michael's songwriting and passion when performing is what drives JaY aRe to succeed. When listening to his music, you can hear the major influence that rapper Drake has on his style and delivery. In an interview on WGRN in Greenville, Illinois, JaY aRe talked about how he listened to Drake's "Thank Me Later" album over 100 times completely through. You can clearly tell where JaY aRe's priorities lie.
