Bio
Renowned for her powerful voice, Jaya combines punchy rhythmic guitar with infectious vocal melodies to deliver a blend of pop, rock and folk that is a style all her own. Her songs have been likened to that of Tracy Chapman, Annie Lennox, and KT Tunstall.
Originally from Sydney, Jaya grew up in the Middle East, and returned to Australia to study at Queensland's Conservatorium of Music. She soon started performing around the Gold Coast and went on to play shows around Queensland and New South Wales.
Jaya’s passion for song writing led to the recording of her debut EP, ‘Go All the Blue People;’ and when her songs caught the attention of Jason Sintome, manager of the Gold Coast Titans, Jaya was asked to perform as pre-game entertainment at Skilled Park Stadium, playing to an audience of 10,000 people.
Jaya's soaring vocals and dynamic performances continued to land her some prestigious shows including supporting 80's Pop Icon Rick Astley on his Australian Tours in 2012 and 2014; and performing with Australian singer/songwriter Clare Bowditch on her 'Winter Secrets Tour' in 2014.
