Lyrics

One(all we have)

Written By: Jay Barry

You say together we stand and together we fall then tell me why when I’m falling does it feel like I’m standing alone cause nothing changes everything stays the same. Quicksand emotion pulls us in and we cant seem to fight our way out from within those memories that make us slaves to back in the day, one scent, one scene, one dream, one day can take us back and one move, on heart, one tear, one break can make you feel like your loosing this game, yeah your losing
When winning means everything and we’re all playing to win but summers calling it seems like no one understands you only get what you put in.
So hedge your bets on those fences those white picket dreams and never think back on all of the things which might have been there just fairytales for a generation lost in the screens, so maybe you were right and maybe I was wrong maybe this is just a song but maybe I was right and maybe you were wrong maybe this is boy pouring his should on a six string attention world
When winning means everything and we’re all playing to win but summer is calling it seems like no one understands you only get what you put in but what would you give up to get those dreams, if they wouldn’t hear you would you stand up and scream with me cause we’re not going back and we wont take prisoners we’re not going anywhere till we get what we deserve, would you stand up with me yeah!
This is our day they’ll never take us alive this way, this is our day they’ll never take us alive; they’ll never take us alive
When winning means everything and you know I’m playing to win but summers calling and I know exactly what I put into those dreams you call them obsured but thank god they are mine not yours cause I know, yes I know! One scent one scene one day one dream that’s all we have.

Wait for the Rain

Written By: Jay Barry

Everyday like a motion picture a thousand words but still no script and I’ll be dammed if I ever heard a sound, and her eyes they lack conviction inside of all those wishes she says this worlds getting colder and I’m losing ground but.
I never make a promise I don’t intend to keep and this one I’ll be making with you and all those empty words I know only bring me to my knees but these words are loaded and their pointed straight at you.
She still loves the thunder opens the window feels the wonder of the rain as it rolls down her face, she knows there’s something to take away from every heartache each mistake gives her something more to build on and she’s getting older everyday and she knows she’s so far from where she thought she’d be he said just give me a chance she gave him half and that was that even though he had the courage to stand in her face and say.
I never make a promise I don’t intend to keep and this one I’ll be making with you and all those empty words I know only bring me to my knees but these words are loaded and their pointed straight at you.
She loves Tim McGraw he’s got punk rock on his walls and she wonders how this could ever last she likes to cry at TV and all those old movies while he’d rather be scared half to death, and she knew he was leaving but she didn’t know it would hurt this bad, yeah she knew he was leaving now she wishes she would have given him that chance back when he said.
I never make a promise I don’t intend to keep and this one I’ll be making with you and all those empty words I know only bring me to my knees but these words are loaded and their pointed straight at you.
Do you still wait for the rain wonder why when it’s gone it’s still running down your face, you made it this way, do you still wait for the rain.

City by the Sea

Written By: Jay Barry

Radio plays another sad song a requiem of a life gone so wrong and the phantom sings lost melodies in his ear as the memories fade like all those dreams you shared. Never been one for California dreaming that city by the sea always seemed so cliché to him but it’s got to be better than drowning in that chair at the end of the bar again tonight and he says
Come on city by the sea warm my shores and light my way to where I want to be, yeah come on city by the sea give me story loves and sea side dreams there all I’ll ever need.
Lacing up her boots at the edge of the bed again and she wonders if he’d even remember her name as the guilt creeps in like the light through the shades and she takes herself back to better days, got a smile as warm as the California sun but you’d never see it it’s buried beneath all she’s become and she says somewhere there’s a city by a sea and a man who’s waiting just for me I go there everywhere I sleep
So come on city by the sea warm my shores and light my way to where I want to be, yeah come on city by the sea give me story loves and sea side dreams there all I’ll ever need.
And it’s not so hard to believe that those story book endings aren’t as far as they seem on a beach where the waves just wash our silhouettes back into the sea.
So come on city by the sea warm my shores and light my way to where I want to be, yeah come on city by the sea give me story loves and sea side dreams there all I’ll ever need in my city by the sea, there all I need in my city by the sea.
