"Jayce Miguel Interview with RapSoulution.com"

Jayce, how are you doing today?I'm good.. Blessed.. Tired.. All of the above. And how are you?

Please introduce yourself to our readers.I am Jayce Miguel. I am from Cincinnati, OH. I am a Hip Hop and the Founder/ CEO of N*Depth Recordings.

You call yourself 'The Business', would you elaborate on this?I call myself "The Business" because that is what I believe I am. I believe that I am "The Business" of Hip Hop.
I am here to make a change to the music industry, and show that there are other avenues of making money and makinga difference. Music is being filtered, and there is not enough realism in it anymore. I'm not about a dollar. I'm about
making a positive impact for kids, the community, and the world and sound of Hip Hop music.
How did you first get into Hip HopI started writing poems when I was about 14. There was nothing that I can do to express my feelings toward the personalthings that were happening in my life, and so it expanded to music. Since then, I learned how to form verses, and then
come up with good hooks. My biggest push was from my cousin eVo, who is now my main producer.Who inspired you the most and why?
Russell Simmons inspires me the most. He showed me that with Def Jam, that the sky's the limit when it comes to music and creativity. In my eyes, he is one of the best businessmen alive. My main goal isn't to be the main artist, but to be the main boss.. And the most successful boss the music industry has ever seen.

How do you describe your music?
I describe my music as a movement. Jayce Miguel is the voice that a lot of people are afraid to express. Jayce Miguel is Hip Hop in its purest form, without leaving out any kind of style of rap and hip hop.
Who is the biggest act you have opened for and how did you get it? The biggest act that I have opened for is ILL Poetic. It took a lot of networking, and he is successful on the road. Right now, he stays in Cincinnati, and I asked him to be one of the acts at my birthday show this past year. To my surprise, he was for it! ILL Poetic has been all around the world doing shows. And it was honor opening up for him. I plan on opening for industry acts in 2009.
You have some shows coming up, tell us where and when? I have a "Battle of the Sexes" Contest on September 7th in Cincinnati, OH at Dirty Jack's.

But before then we are starting "The Truth Tour" on August 22nd in Cincinnati, OH with Vibe One and Phiyah of Atumiy Records. But check out my myspace page daily, because there are always more shows being posted.

Are you planning on coming down south any time soon?
Yes I plan on coming down south starting Winter 2008. I would love to come down and rock some shows. All I need is the word from some promotors, and it's a sealed deal!

When is your album to be released?
"The One Stop Shop" is set to be released November 4th, 2008 on ITunes, Rhapsody and CD Baby. Along with some other vendors, like Best Buy.

Where can people go to hear your music and how can you be contacted? They can reach me on myspace! www.myspace.com/jaycemiguel
We are still working on the official Jayce Miguel website. That will be here soon.
What do you like about ................................ music scene? I like the creativity of it. And when an artist gives back to his/her community, it's always a good look. What do you think will be your greatest contribution to music? I will bring a new sound, a new face, and a chance for the underground hip hop to come overground and shine. I'm planning on bringing the New Def Jam, Atlantic, and Interscope to the music scene! That's a promise!! Favorite food? I got a love for Mexican Food, but my passion is Italian Food!! Can't do without it! Any shout-outs ? I want to shout out RapSoulution for taking the time to publish this! All of my N*Depth Recordings staff (Pry, Mafia Child, Shamekko, Sean C, Kandi, eVo and DJ Ace), all of the DJs that give me a chance to shine, and all of the fans! I love ya'll! I do it for ya'll!! Hip Hop's new golden child is coming soon!! - Ms. Anna for RapSoulution.com

Bio

"Hustler, Motivator, Leader...." While music is evolving more and more each day, there will be leaders of the new MoveMent. Here Cincinnati, Ohio brings you Jayce Miguel. Jayce Miguel was born into the typical single parent household. Along with his strong religious background, Jayce brings about a new sound of music. The music that is needed in the times of hardship and struggle. "My focus is to cater to the audience that is going though hard times, just to show them that with a strong faith in God, yourself, and the focus and drive to become better, the sky's the limit. The possibilities are endless." With songs under his belt, such as "Diary" (2007), "Concentrate" (2007), and the hit single "Something That" (2007), Jayce Miguel gives you his life, his joy, pain, and laughter, in a music session that is impossible to forget. With the second chapter getting ready to unfold, "There's Something About Jayce..." on its way, the only thing that Jayce concentrates on is getting his music out to the mass public. " I want to do things with my music that "The Conception" helped me to see without the proper resources. Now that N*Depth Recordings and myself have the game plan ready, it's time to execute and to let the people know that I mean business. I call myself 'The Business' for a reason, and nobody else throws a live performance, or has a complete album like myself. So, now it's time for my words to stop, and to let the actions speak for me." His latest single, "Classic", has been getting radio spins and rotation in cities, including Dayton, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA and Newark, NJ. His album "The One Stop Shop" is set to be released in the spring of 2009. We bring you, the Business, Jayce Miguel.
