This is Music from the real world. Songs that I have written about things I have seen and experienced. Danger--extreme emotional content. I write songs primarily for women because they have a greater understanding of and appreciation for emotional issues.

Biography

I grew up with old time rock and roll and was influenced by artists like Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard who did their own thing. Later on I also came to appreciate the simplicity and story telling of "Three chords and the Truth" Country. Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and George Jones. I don`t try to sound like them but I have learned a little about how to tell a story from them. I know that sex sells and that the music business is about sales but more importantly I think music should be about what we hear and feel--not what we see.

Empty Arms and Breaking Hearts

Written By: Peter Wallace and Jay Davidson

Six hundred sons and daughters
are standing at Volk field
on the day that they`d been ordered
to a war that`s now so real
their tears and fears and emotions
would ebb and flow all day
as they waited for the planes to come
and carry them away.

(Chorus)
Empty arms and breaking hearts all around me
hugs felt like gold as the tears flowed
the smiles all seemed so real
empty arms and breaking hearts as we sent them off to war
(break)
Moms and Dads and Sisters
Grandparents too
Brothers looked at Brothers
and didn`t know what to do
the soldiers held their children
to them it seemed so sad
time away from family
little kids without their Dads
(chorus)
(break)
Tours of duty are over now
the planes touch American soil
they rush to find their loved ones,
but my Son I cannot see.
This war has torn us apart,
they brought him home too soon
and God now holds my Son to him
leaving me with empty arms
(break)
Only heaven will mend my broken heart,
when I see my Son again.
Only heaven can mend my broken heart,
when I see my Son again.
