Bio
As a recording artist Jay-Dogg Morency surfaced in the year 2000, where he and a childhood friend, Julien J., wanted to change the face of the music industry. Jay-Dogg was raised in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, where he developed his unique style of delivery. In the hood he was known as a disc jockey along side his late brother, who was killed in 1998. The death of his brother Moe-C awakened his passion for music and life as whole. In the summer of 2001 A3 Records was founded and Jay-Dogg Morency was a front line artist/producer for the label. In the spring of 2002 the label released their first project (Local Takeover) of which Jay-Dogg produced 13 of the 16 tracks and appeared on all of the tracks as an artist. In the winter of 2002 A3 released another project (Blow This B**** Up). On this project Jay-Dogg focused more on developing his “on the mic” skills. His identity as a fire MC was recognized for his verse on the hit single (This Life) off of this release. In January of 2003 Jay-Dogg formed a group named Classified, which consist of label mates M.V.P and Jcheff. Then in the fall of 2004 vocalists Mac became a new addition to the group Classified. In the group Jay-Dogg is the lead rapper, and is known for the energy he brings on the tracks. Classified has gone on to record an album (Morning 2 Sunset) and performed for national acts, colleges, and clubs all over the southern region of the United States. Jay-Dogg’s versatile flow and composition of lyrics has definitely set him apart from your everyday rapper. His unique smooth voice has been the ladies favorite, but his flip side can be a night mare for other rappers.
