"JAY FRESH- JUST A MAN (VIDEO)"

Conception Crafters is like the Maybach Music of the blog world minus the matching chains and questionable ladyfriends. It’s no secret that Jay Fresh (and Conception Crafters) has been taking the blog world by storm as of late. However, who was the one that was riding for Jay Fresh in the very beginning? Me. Who was the one that predicted he would blow up? Me. Who’s the one who whips blogs like Rick Ross whips dope off the iPhone? Me. Alright, that last question was a little off topic.

This blog, however, isn’t about me or my love of Rick Ross, it’s about Jay Fresh. In lieu of his recent, “Delta Project” Jay releases another visual shot, edited, and colored by Chris Complete to keep the #freshheads at bay. The “Delta Project” has done so well that it’s allowed Jay to book four shows with Pretty Lights music artist Paper Diamond, Gramatik, Supervision, and Michal Menert. Somebody swag this man out. Even though Jay Fresh may be “just a man” I predict he’s well on his way to making serious noise in the coming months. Since I’m a nice guy, I’ve included the entire, “Delta Project” below if you missed it the first time. If you did miss it the first time, then shame on you. Connect with him on Facebook here. - FreshNewTracks

"Amazing – Jay Fresh"

Here’s a new treat from Jay Fresh, the first drop from his upcoming Delta Project. Using a Pretty Lights track, Jay goes in on this with an awesome flow and a great story. I love the lyrics, the vibe, and the way Jay seems to work so well with the instrumental. Take a listen and stay tuned to The Kollection for more Jay Fresh! - The Kollection

"On Deck With Jay Fresh"

?It's rare to see a 20-year-old musician rock sold-out shows, but Dallasite Jay Fresh is different. The professional skateboarder-turned-rapper took the spotlight at a young age with kickflips and ollies and has chosen to stay there, albeit with a different skill.
As a musician, Jay Fresh's resume is limited, yet impressive. He teamed up with Pretty Lights' SuperVision (also a Dallas native) to release a remix of Jay-Z's "Otis" and just released a new EP called The Delta Project on Tuesday. He's even tried branding his own genre called "sonic hip hop," a mix of electronic and hip hop sprinkled with dubstep traits. We caught up with Jay Fresh to talk music and see what he's been jamming lately.

Currently jamming: Kaskade

"I just like the flow of his songs. It's really mellow and it's got a good vibe to it."

Looking forward to: Integrating his backup drummer and DJ into more live sets.

"I've been playing with KG, my drummer, and Jus-Stone the Great who produced a track called 'Diamonds.' We've been doing that for a couple months now. It started out just me and a microphone; now we've bandaged everyone in the band, which is really cool."

Where the two roads meet: A new EP called The Delta Project

"This latest EP is just a couple of tracks of Pretty Lights samples. Over a whole two-month span I was listening to Pretty Lights' music and I was trying to figure out which tracks were going to make a good compilation. With a lot of the tracks I spent time writing, trying to come up with concepts, and finding a good story I could tell over those beats. 'Finally Moving,' the EP's lead track, was the first PL song I ever heard, and after I heard that I kind of just fell. I wanted more and eventually it became a project." - Dallas Observer - DC9 at Night

Bio

Jordan Michael Johnson, (Sept. 2, 1991) better known as Jay Fresh, is a hip-hop artist coming out of the indie music scene in Dallas. His compositions are mixtures of eclectic electronic beats with hip-hop overtones and while his style has been described by some as “eclectic modern hip-hop,” his appeal is increasingly defined by a more thoughtful focus on the lyrical.

In the past year, he has become a notable fixture among the Dallas live music scene - opening for artists such as: LMFAO, Wale, Mac Miller, Gramatik, Paper Diamond, SuperVision,
The Cool Kids, Yelawolf, Big Krit and Trae The Truth among others.

Formerly a sponsored skateboarder standout, Jay Fresh has morphed into a genre-merging musician whose work can be described as a venturous Mos Def or Common.

His musical collaboration with SuperVision, has produced his most recently released (08/23/2011) track - an electronic remix of the Jay-Z/Kanye West original entitled 'Otis' (Jay Fresh + SuperVision Remix) available here: http://soundcloud.com/thejayfresco
