"Illiana Music- Featured Band"

At The OMalley’s Jam Night I ran into some of the guys from the Chicago based hard rock band ‘The Euphoric’ a few months back. Since that December night I have kept a close eye, and ear on what they have been doing. They are throwback, with modern metal and progressive influences, throw in a sound that is relevant today; you have ‘The Euphoric’.

They have played The Metro, Elbo Room, The Pearl Room, and The Double Door. As well as sharing the stage with national bands Mushroomhead, Powerman 5000, Dope, Puddle Of Mudd, Lifehouse and Alterbridge, just to mention a few. Their debut CD ‘Transcend’ has had plenty of play on college radio, as well as XM.

Songs such as ‘Chosen’ and ‘Addiction Girl’ are songs that are tireless, and sound fresh every time you press play. Garageband.com has taken notice of these guys as well, receiving plenty of awards, airplay, and track of the day in March, for ‘Addiction Girl’. If these guys stay focused I look for a big 2008. We here at illianamusic.com are big supporters of these guys. - By Lars Van Heineken

"Illinois Entertainer- Local Spins"

On Transcend, Chicago quartet The Euphoric does a respectable job of providing early-'90s-inspired metal. Not too many new tricks are pulled out of the bag here, but the heavy guitar riffs and drums are spot on. And lead vocalist Wicki's lyrics keep things surprising, as he taps into his inner strife ("This Is a Conflict") and also reflects on his place in modern society ("Generation In Ruins"). Transcend
The Euphoric
By Melanie (Sass) Falina

At this very moment, The Euphoric is a Chicago-hometown hero – but that status is bound to evolve to a more global ranking at any time now.

Music lovers may have actually already heard their tunes featured on XM Satellite radio as their debut release, Transcend , has been burning up airwaves as far away as Germany , and commanding respect with its 11-song collection of rock and roll vigor.

Transcend 's production is crisp and heady, with controlled choreography of the big sounds that come from the drums, guitar, and vocals all at the same time without any one running into or over the others.

Kicking off the disc is the song "Killing Me," a flashy, passionate rocker with larger-than-life vocals and Dezzy Ray Locke's guitar parts which are both dominant and melodic.

Followed by "This is a Conflict" - appropriately coinciding with the title this rocker is heavy and combative, the type a song that might get you a speeding ticket if you're grooving to it in your car.

"Everything Fades" – a hypnotic tune, but one that doesn't wimp out on attitude what-so-ever. The Jason's vocals are emphatic and enhanced by Jay Mishur's solid rhythm s on the drums.

The brightest of these shining stars on Transcend is the tune "Chosen." With background harmonies accentuating a wide range of lead vocal dexterity – and all wafting about on a subtle but vigorous musical arrangement. "Chosen" is emotion with a rhythm section, human ardor bleeding out of an amp.

"Betrayed" begins with a catchy pulsation and continues with a 'don't mess with me' heartbroken-misogyny feel throughout.

And "Sorry," – another song that's a little jaded in its nature, but this toe-tapper will implant itself into your brain with its addictive chorus and tough guitar solo.

Other songs include "Addiction Girl," "Brave New Machine," the bombastic rocker "Dead and Gone," and "Generations in Ruins."

Wrapping up Transcend is "Not Alone," a red-blooded anthem that highlights Mishur's savage flair on the drums.

Augmenting The Euphoric family for their live shows and c ombining forces with Dezzy Ray Locke and Jay Mishur is Trey Giudici on bass, and taking over the mic is the singer simply known as Wicki. The Euphoric is a powerhouse of musicians who are guaranteed to blow you away.

The Euphoric will be performing at The Rave in Milwaukee with Alter Bridge on November 17th, 2007.

Bio

I have been playing drums professionally for over 30 years and have extensive experience in both live performance and studio recording. I also have lots of experience playing with a click or sequence/video live or in the recording studio. A few of the most recent bands that I have played with are: Zack's 5th Ave, Dustin Parker, Blown, B.C., The Euphoric, The Branded, Red Mercury Sky, and A Birdsong Valentine. Zack's 5th Ave was started by my brother Zack and I. We played originals and covers. We mainly played instrumental rock fusion such as Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Steve Morrison, The Dixie Dregs, Eric Johnson and more. It was more of a musician's band more then anything else as you can imagine. After that I played with a country/rock band called The Dustin Parker Band for a few years in support of his cd release Tales From Centerville. I had a lot of fun in that band and we played hundreds of gigs. We played several shows throughout the Midwest and at Navy Pier and other venues throughout Chicagoland including opening up for 38 Special. Then I totally switched gears and starting playing with a rap metal band called Blown. They had some interest from Universal and they were endorsed by Dickies clothing and a few other small music companies. I played and controlled the live sequence with an A-DAT player while playing drums. I think it took a few years off my life trying to hold a wild metal band down to a click live while trying to maintain my syncopated double bass drum parts. From there I helped put together a progressive rock band call B.C. The bass player Brian wrote all the music and was looking to try to pull it off live when he called me to join. It was a powerful progressive band but, I found myself wanting to be more involved in the writing process rather then supporting a solo artist. This brings us to The Euphoric. The Euphoric was a rock band with modern and old school metal and rock influence. The cd Transcend was released in the Fall of 2007. Evolution Promotion did the radio promotion in 2007/2008. It was an honor to work with them seeing some of their past clients included The Police, Sting, Moby, The Raccontours, The White Strips and more. The Euphoric has played with such national acts as Puddle of Mudd, Dope, Alterbridge and Lifehouse to name a few. Managing this band, playing, writing and recording as proved to be more then a challenge. I definitely respect band leaders a lot more after this one.

Recent past live/recording clients & studios include: Pressure Point Recording- Larry Sturm producer/engineer & Steve Kovacs engineer, (UTR) Up Town Recording- Rob Ruccia engineer, Star Trax- Jeff Luif engineer, Performance Recording- Marty Bilecki engineer, Piper Studios- Chuck Piper engineer, Mishur Jams Recording- Zack Mishur producer/engineer, Circle of Fate, The Euphoric, The Dustin Parker Band, B.C., Dan Gralleger, Robert Durling, Short Cuts, Sound Bridge, Backstreet, Blown, Zack's 5th Ave, Time Traveler, and more.
