Often misunderstood – though never misguided, Jay Norton: a born and bred Liverpudlian has nurtured a style of writing deemed by peers at times extremely prolific , at others: extremely blunt. According to him – life is a journey in search of love. Every melody documents his findings – a step by step insight that reaches into a pool of emotion –more often than not expressing the struggles and truth of the not-so-happy endings relationships can bring.
Although often classified as accessible pop/rock, it is clear there is more to Jay than just pop culture. His voice has a distinct contemporary rnb tone with a soulful edge that brings him away from anything strictly pop. His interests lie further afield than the latter listing artists such as William Orbit and Ferry Corsten amongst others as Influences.
On hearing Jay's cover of the Robyn track 'With Every Heartbeat', Don'tstopthePop.com approached asking for rights to putting out an article:

Although uncertain of where the future may take him musically, at just 19 years old, it is clear that Jay possesses a natural ease in songwriting - something that reaches far beyond these years.
