Bio

Over the course of a few years, 24-year old singer/songwriter Jay OMalley has been writing, recording, and performing music. Starting out in an Alternative rock trio called Nite n Day, the band quickly became a regular in the college bar scene. The band was very successful and landed opening spots for some of Chicagos top acts while at the same time recording music that appeared in an independent film. After some time, the band decided to split up and pursue other aspirations. Emerging from the split was a drive to keep the music going and a solo performance that can still attract the biggest of crowds. Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, Jay OMalley has geared his music, accordingly. The result is an acoustic performance filled with songs ranging from classic rock, mainstream acoustic rock and original music. The live show is not like your typical acoustic cover band. The melodies are played with guitar and can be looped or played back. This enables both guitar and vocal riffs to be stacked and harmonized with each other, which gives a larger than life sound. Some of the effects allow bass lines, solos, and drum beats to be recorded all live. This uncommon sound produces some of your favorite cover songs along with many originals.
In 2007, the idea still remains the same, to play as much music as possible. Jay OMalleys original music is filled with an emotion that adds to the aggressive guitar playing and hard hitting vocals. Many say it's college rock turned unplugged. Jay OMalley has teamed up with long time music producer Andy Madden to deliver an original acoustic full-length album that is out now. A performer that remains true to his family, his friends, and an undying love and dedication to play music to anyone that will listen.
