Jay Rockwell, better known by his stage name Cateye, is a recording artist and businessman from the westside of Chicago. Born and raised in Rockwell Gardens Projects, Cateye used the inspiration of other great Chicago artist, such as R.Kelly, Common, Kanye West, Twista, Lupe Fiasco etc, to fuel his passion for music.

In 2003 Cateye formed the group Well-Connected with his brother Xavier and released their fisrt single, "This Place of Ours" featuring R.Kelly and produced by Chicago based producer Slitt Litt. The song was a tremendous success in Chicago and began the journey of Cateye's career.

Shortly after in 2005, Cateye became the founding CEO of Goodtimes Entertainment, an Independent Record Label in pursuit of harnessing other talented artist in the Chicago area.
Cateye later released a solo album titled, " Amount 2 Nothing", featuring the heartfelt song "Lost Time", which was written to motivate and inspire fathers that are absent from their childrens lives. The CD "Amount 2 Nothing" has produced over 45,000 copies and continues to be distributed internationally.

In 2007 Cateye relocated to Los Angeles, California. He has established his name in Los Angeles by performing at venues, festivals and events such as The Blazin' Hope Charity event(2009) hosted by Tupac Shakur's former manager Leila Steinburg and opening for international acts such as Erika Badu and The Pharcyde.

In addition to performing, Cateye has developed a street team that distributes and promotes his music and merchandise annually at major events nationwide including, Marde Gras(New Orleans), Jazz Festivals, Essencefest, South by Southwest(Texas), Lalapooloza(Chicago), Spring/Summer College Break events, Music Concerts, Cultural & Heritage events and more.

Jay Rockwell aka Cateye is currently on his 2010 US-19 City Promotional Tour. His second promo tour since moving to Los Angeles.
