Music finds new form in the hands of JaySun™, a self-proclaimed musicologist, integrating genres, and styles of music not commonly put together, to form one new sound with a much needed message of faith, hope, love, and perseverance. With a very wide spectrum of influences including music greats like Donnie Hathaway, John Mayer, Take 6, Green Day, Maroon 5, and the most commonly noted Michael Jackson, JaySun has developed a sound not common to music, which is just what it needs. Born and raised in Richmond, VA, JaySun, born Jason Johnson, is the 7th of 8 kids. He has always had a nack for all things music. "Even as a child he would stand in his high chair and sing. I was so afraid he would fall!", said His mother. All his musical talents were that of a self-taught musician. At the age of six, he sang for the first time in front of a crowd. By the time he was 12 he was already writting his own songs. Around that time JaySun joined The Richmond Boys Choir, where his gifts were refined, under the direction of Billy Dye. He performed with the RBC for 4 year for the likes of " Wynton Marsalis and Lily Tomlin at the Richmond Forum, former Supreme member Mary Wilson, at Maymont Park's Musicfest in Richmond, Virginia, the renowned James Earl Jones at Hampton-Sydney College, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. One of their many performance highlights to date has been an appearance on the nationally viewed NBC Today Show, which hailed high praise from its anchor Katie Couric. After leaving RBC, JaySun took a break from performing to find who he was out side of music. Those years were some of the worst, but from them he found new light in music. By 18 Jaysun was deep in ministry and had drifted from music almost completly. A shift in surroundings was what JaySun needed to jump start his music once more, and that's exactly what God did! He place JaySun in a place with people who hoped and dreamed like he use to. This set him a fire! Before he knew it, He was writting again, but it was different. His technique had changed.
