Jay Vega

Born Emanuel Jose Vega Ortiz, better known as "Jay Vega" on January 1st, 1979, in Rio Piedras, P.R. and raised in Carolina, P.R. Jay Vega grew up in an artistic environment this is were his inspiration to become a singer/songwriter originated from. Coming from a family dedicated to music and arts, Jay followed his father's "Jose Vega Santana-El Payaso "REMI", his mother, "Lucy Ortiz Melendez"-Former Public Relations for a Platinum Artist Salsa singer" and his grandmother's "Agustina "Gooogie" Santana-singer and actress" footsteps. Jay sister "Surey Vega(currently working on Proyecto Vega's new project" also sings and worked on different productions as a back up singer.

After finishing school Jay Vega started working with his father as a production assistant in his TV show, live presentations and concerts all around P.R. and U.S. In 2001 Jay moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he started to write lyrics and work on his project as a reggaeton artist. Jay Vega, being raised around Reggaeton music, root reggae, salsa, rock and electronic music. It was inevitable for Jay Vega to try something new. That's when he decided to start a project called "Proyecto Vega" that involves a unique touch of electronic music and tropical music elements with reggaeton. A new fusion to this genre, where others would surely follow.Jay Vega along with his peers have being working on live shows, radio interviews to distribute and promote his unique sound. He has produced all the tracks that are part of Proyecto Vega's repertory. Now established in Miami Jay Vega is stronger than ever with new tracks and promotional presentations. Leaving his foot print all over Florida and the world. Some of his most recent projects include the mix tape "Back 2 Business" and "Cosa Nostra" presented by Latin flow 305.
