Lyrics

The Distance

Written By: Jay Wiltzen

You saw my face in the hallway
So you turned your head around
Out of sight out of mind frame
I wish you didn’t believe in that now

But you… you get what you give
Like your empty soul, tainted with bliss

The distance keeps me from pain
So I’m gonna love you this way
The distance keeps me from pain
So I’m gonna love you this way

A couple glasses of courage
And they always lead into me
Drink up baby, let’s flourish
But it’s not that easy… Not that easy

The distance keeps me from pain
So I’m gonna love you this way
The distance keeps me from pain
So I’m gonna love you this way

I bet you wish you knew how I felt
But it’s hard. The situation gets harder,
When I’ve yet to introduce myself

The distance keeps me from pain
The distance keeps me from pain
The distance is always the same
So I’m gonna love you this way

Confessions of a friday night

Written By: Jay Wiltzen

There’re demons hiding ‘round
Every Friday night they come back out
And make me speak my mind
I regret it all the time

And in the morning when it’s slow
I’ll confess all to my pillow
Where no one hears the truth
That’s fine by me and you

Safety’s measured by the small hand on the clock
And if it turns around once more
That’s another day behind
And that’s you stepping back…

So take me by the hand
Tell me things are perfect
Or that they’ll fall apart
That’s the beauty of the start
oh oh oh oh
Don’t you love a broken heart?

Can you feel it in your spine?
The knife you thought was mine
But if I ever touched your skin
Cold steel’s not where I’d begin

So now you shut your mind
I get nervous all the time
You’ll never have my back
No you’ll never have my back

Safety’s measured by the small hand on the clock…

So take me by the hand
Tell me things are perfect
Or that they’ll fall apart
That’s the beauty of the start
Oh oh oh oh
Don’t you love a broken heart?

These are my confessions of a Friday night
I get no reception when she’s lady like

Oh oh oh oh, and that’s you stepping back. That’s you stepping back
And oh oh oh oh, that’s you stepping back

These are my confessions of a Friday night
I get no reception when she’s lady like
These are my confessions of a Friday night
A Friday night.
