Heard the expression "think outside of the box"? I have been living outside the box my entire life. From the youngest age I have never found ease in taking directions. I have always wanted to find the answer using my own resources. My innovative and entrepreneurial thinking has led me into the music industry. What started out as a way for the middle child to express himself; I have grabbed a hold of what I know best (music) and redefined my genre.
My influences include pop punk classics like Blink 182, Brand New, Lit, Jimmy Eat World, and Alkaline Trio; indie favorites Bright Eyes, Sufjan Stevens, and Menomena (from my college radio days at WWVU-FM Morgantown); and the very chill Matt Costa, and Jack Johnson.
Being the middle child I know what it feels like to be "lost in the sauce" and sometimes forgotten. In school I was constantly getting into trouble and college was only the beginning to my run-ins with the law. After a near death escape from a burning house and an arrest all in one year I realized that God was sending me a wake up call. My music reflects the decision I made to stop running away and turn towards God. My lyrics are true accounts of incite and experiences that not only I, but everyone can relate to. I can especially relate to this generations youth because I know their struggles.
What set's me apart from the rest? Music production and positive music. When I moved to college at WVU I picked up a computer, a Lexicon Omega interface, and some cheap microphones. Over the years I have been refining my music production skills in the pursuit of recording a meaningful demo. I failed many times but in failure I have found success in producing, mixing, mastering, and composing. My music is solely produced and composed by myself, (please keep this in mind when listening to my music.) How many other bands can say they have done it all and on under $500 worth of equipment? The future is music production and I believe I have a great head start.
Positive Music- "What you think is who you are." So often you turn on the radio and hear a degrading message motivating the mind to digress. My music is positive and evokes an emotion that does not corrupt the mind. In an age where the youth have never been more misled, I hope to take the reigns and lead them out of the trenches.
